Software engineering is becoming a hierarchy of loops. So today we're launching Mastra Factory: a system for agents to take software from issue into production. Get started with 𝚗𝚙𝚖 𝚌𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚏𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚢:

In Mastra Factory, specialized agents triage issues, write and validate code, release changes, update documentation, and monitor production. Mastra provides the agents, tools and observability. Here's the blog post:

Yes! This is so strong. npm create factory

FACTORY!

It's time

yesss been waiting for this

same

Big time launch; congrats to you and the team!

🚀🚀🚀

During the Mastra Factory onboarding, I was ready to add my OpenAI key... but it gave me the option to use my Codex subscription. Very niiice I'm about to squeeze the most out of my Pro plan.

🚀🚀🚀

🚀👏!!

🚀🚀🚀

𝚗𝚙𝚖 𝚌𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚏𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚢 🔥

yup 🚀🚀🚀

This is so cool 👀

stoked

cool stuff!!

super interesting re: the UI you built

has a cool kanban mode too. not much utility but look cool as hell! :)

@russellkdegraff uh oh! cc @tylbar

Cooked 👨🍳

The namespace hits hard 👊

yup!!

Love it. Congrats!

stoked for what everyone will build

How does this help me build a chatbot for my company

you should use normal mastra agents for that

I am wondering is such "loop" approach really cheaper comparing to "old days" even on the course of a year? Sure, you can launch faster, it's true, but that the tip of an iceberg.

Cheaper? I'm not sure. More efficient? Definitely.

But what do you define with efficiency? If it's not the budget - then what? Quality of software? Speed? Something else? I'm really interested, not trying to throw something bad here.

Efficiency is cost per feature delivered If it costs 10% more and you ship 50% more it's more efficient

congrats!!

we’re stoked!

Congrats @calcsam and @mastra team!

@mastra thanks Gokul!

How do you handle compaction for codex / Claude?

we have our own coding agent which has a better way of doing compaction:

Fascinating, i do think you should look into how codex does compaction, it does it at binary level. To be honest, the actual mechanism escapes me, but I've heard great things about its performance for long running tasks, open code has a plugin specifically for it.

let's go!!

🚀🚀🚀

Getting: Factory decision dispatch cycle failed SQLITE_BUSY: database is locked

Really impressive

ty!

Taking an issue all the way to production automatically is ambitious.

eventually these agents will just start hiring their own interns

Couple questions: - Can a unique issue work in multiple repos at the same time? - Can we set up a ‘PR AI war’ with 2 different coding agents until they agree on a common resolution and all CI passes? - Can we run the agents in the cloud instead of locally? Keep up the good work 💪🏽🚀

cool, this will crush @FactoryAI

@FactoryAI i guess we'll see

@FactoryAI no moat there, a better product can win over the market

Cool concept. Curious what happens when the agent hits an issue that's actually a product decision in disguise.

Spot on! Switching between Zoom and a visual canvas completely breaks the flow state. That’s actually why we built Whitebo—to merge native live voice directly into the whiteboard so teams can just draw and talk in one tab.

I set this up. I can't connect to Linear, and I've already sent a support ticket. There's something wrong with your Linear auth.

Thanks for the heads up. Looking into it.

The future of software engineering may be less about writing every line and more about orchestrating intelligent systems.

@paulg

Issue straight to production, that's the whole loop
