One of the major causes of weak immunity among populations around the world is lack of nutrients in our food and soils. 60% of the world's population is deficient in nutrients like iron due to lack of nutrients in food and soils. Organic matter in the soil improves and helps retain soil structure, leading to improved water quality. This in turn increases food security and reduces the deterioration of the natural ecosystems. World Health Organization (WHO) is working with countries to transform food environments, reduce harmful marketing to children, and tackle the growing burden of ultra-processed foods. I commend #Sweden for co-hosting EAT, and for its leadership on sustainable food systems.
