Imagine overlooking the fact that the only reason Roman reigns is in the position he’s in now is because for the first few years of The Bloodline he had everybody else do his dirty work for him. He held his titles as long as he did because Solo, his enforcer, made it so. Sure… he’s proven he can hold his own NOW, but he only came to that level of prominence because of his family fighting his battles and interfering. So yes. Everything’s up for interpretation. You said "family doesn't do that" which clearly doesn't fit here, because Solo's own actions and words are what led him to this point WWE showed the video package at the start to explain why Roman is asking Solo to acknowledge him. Solo betrayed Roman after WrestleMania 40 and then backed out on his word after the Netflix premiere, where Roman beat him fair and square. Roman is pissed at Solo because Solo never paid for his actions. You can't use the 'family doesn't do that' angle when this all started because Solo "as family" betrayed Roman first. Just because Solo is a face now (and so over..love it😭) doesn't erase his past actions as A heel..
