Putting your phone in a ziplock baggie is smart, but burying your valuables at the beach is stupid. Leave your jewelry at home.

I did this and the tide came in while I was swimming and a very conscientious beachgoer came over to my towel and started dragging it away from the waterline so it wouldn't get wet. I instantly became an olympic swimmer and raced towards shore yelling while swimming. LOL... I found my stuff buried about 6 feet from where he left my towel.

The bag of water at the end made me laugh. Sure it will get the sand off your feet before you put them in your sandals, but 10 paces up toward the parking lot you’re going to have a sandal full of sand anyway.
