Some time ago, Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa said he would not visit the Damascus countryside unless the Syrian army commander Essam al-Buwaydhani detained in the UAE was with him. After a year of his detention in the UAE, the Syrian president made an official visit to the UAE and brought Essam al-Buwaydhani with him on the same presidential plane after the UAE released him. Today, he visited the Damascus countryside accompanied by commander Essam al-Buwaydhani. Al-Buwaydhani was arrested by the UAE after visiting his relatives there following the fall of the Assad regime. He was the leader of a Syrian faction called Jaysh al-Islam during the Syrian revolution. After the toppling of the Assad regime, he became a commander in the Syrian Arab army.

I asked President Zelenskyy Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський about his Oval Office meeting where Vice President JD Vance JD Vance and President Trump yelled at him. Zelenskyy was reportedly asked to leave and was escorted out of the White House. It was a shockingly terrible meeting. Given how bad that day was, I wanted to know how he and President Trump Donald J. Trump ended up on good terms. He said the tone has "absolutely changed”, and he traced it to one private 15 minute conversation he had with Trump at the Vatican, just the two of them. He called it historic. Zelenskyy will be meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office on Tuesday, July 28th.
