On a motion supporting the people of Persia and the safety of all in the Middle East and globally, I read a letter from Janet Shay, an Iranian woman who escaped the Islamic regime, converted from Islam to Christianity and now lives safely in Australia. Janet calls for honest debate, the freedom to question belief systems, and for clear distinctions between those who live peacefully and those whose convictions threaten public safety. She urged the government to apply consistent standards, learn from Iran's experience, and put Australians' security first. Her message is clear: It's not good enough for our government to call behaviour 'Terrorism' when it's outside of our country and refuse to say the name when it's inside. The safety of Australians must never be sacrificed because politicians are too afraid to have difficult conversations.

That’s not inclusion. That’s intimidation. It’s not just in Parliament, it’s in our schools. Children are told to perform rituals many families don’t believe in. It starts in early childhood. Australians didn’t ask for this. It’s being pushed by activists, not supported by the majority. When Susan Ley opened her Press Club speech with a Welcome to Country, that wasn’t leadership, it was surrender. The Liberals didn’t lead the No campaign. I did. I called it out first. They followed. And while they pander to activists, everyday Australians are footing the bill for waste and mismanagement. NDIS rorts are out of control. Some providers are charging outrageous rates just for travel. That’s your money being drained from a system meant to help the vulnerable. Meanwhile, defence spending is falling behind. NDIS costs are about to surpass what we spend protecting the nation. Australia’s immigration system is broken. It no longer works in the interests of the Australian people. Immigration policy from both parties of government – Labor and the Coalition – does not reflect the views of the Australian people. It’s driven by big business and used to prop up an economy brought low by poor government decisions. Poll after poll after poll shows most Australians think immigration is too high, or should be lowered. A staggering 1.4 million people have been brought to Australia since Labor won power in 2022. That’s more than the entire population of Adelaide, our fifth largest city. There has never been such a massive increase in our population in all our history. Last year I called for a national plebiscite on immigration to determine the views of the Australian people once and for all. Labor, the Coalition and the Greens blocked it. This showed they do not care about the Australian people’s views on immigration. It showed they do not care about the increasing numbers of Australians struggling to find secure accommodation, struggling to afford increasing rents, or trying to survive on the streets. It showed they don’t care about about the inflation caused by high immigration, or its overwhelming impact on services and infrastructure. I care, because I’m an Australian fighting for a decent standard of living for myself, my family and the Australians relying on me to fight for them. One Nation listens to the Australian people on immigration, and we develop our policies accordingly. Late last year the Department of Home Affairs revealed more than 75 thousand visa holders were in Australia illegally. Under our policy, all of them would be deported immediately. Under our policy, they would not be able to appeal their deportation to the Australian Review Tribunal. During the previous two financial years, just over 1.4 million people came to Australia courtesy of the Albanese Labor government – an average of 700 thousand per year. These numbers are obscene. One Nation will cap arrivals at 130 thousand per year – a drop of 570,000 per year from Labor’s record numbers. This will allow Australia to catch its breath, catch up with housing, and catch up with services and infrastructure. One Nation’s policy introduces a minimum eight-year waiting period for immigrants before they can apply for Australian citizenship and the privileges that come with it. Over this eight-year period, immigrants will be required to consistently demonstrate they are fit to become Australians. We want to reinforce the principle that Australian citizenship is a privilege to be earned, not an entitlement to be given away. Foreign students will be included in our 130 thousand per year cap. Australian universities must be broken of their addiction to foreign students, and forced to prioritise the tertiary education of Australian students. With modern communications technology, there is no compelling reason why most of these students can’t do Australian courses at home unless, of course, you factor in the amount of money they send back home from Australia. In 2023 this figure was 10 billion dollars. It’s a scam to take jobs and wealth from Australians, and we’re going to put a stop to it. One Nation’s policy will also stop those on student visas from using the system as a backdoor to permanent residency, and we’ll prevent students from bringing family members here. Our policy also demands the reinstatement of temporary protection visas and Australia’s withdrawal from the UN Refugee Convention. TPVs are a proven means of deterring people smuggling, stopping the boats and those arriving by plane. Labor is keeping things quiet, but it’s well known the people smugglers are constantly testing our borders and more boats have made it to the mainland in recent months. 🚨BREAKING: ICE/Border Patrol just blatantly violated the constitution and illegally stormed a family home in Minneapolis… Kicked the door in, guns drawn, tased multiple U.S. citizens, with children inside, WITHOUT a judicial warrant AND WITHOUT a no-knock warrant. Watch the video. You hear them scream “We have a warrant!” and then immediately smash the door in. No pause. No paperwork. No judge issued warrant. And here’s the part they don’t want you to understand: If you don’t have a judicial warrant, you do not get to enter a home. If you don’t have a no-knock warrant, you do not get to kick a door in. They had neither. Then you see the inside footage. A woman, in her own home, surrounded by armed men, asks a very simple question: “Where’s the warrant? Show me the warrant. There are kids in this house. Put the guns down.” She asks again: “Where is the warrant?” The agent says, “We’re getting it.” Then says he doesn’t have to show it. So let’s be clear: They admit they don’t have the warrant, but they enter anyway, rifles up, adrenaline high, kids watching. They grab a man. Still no warrant. They order the woman to “back up”… inside her own house… while they are illegally trespassing. When she doesn’t comply fast enough, he shoves her. That is assault. In the background, another woman is tased for hugging the man they’re trying to take. Not attacking. Not armed. Just holding onto someone she cares about. Still. No warrant. Then the woman filming has a taser aimed directly at her. She’s standing in a doorway, asking… again… for the warrant they keep lying about. An agent fires the taser at her. At a woman. Funny or tragic? Tova O’Brien asks PM Luxon a question that includes a 48 second 164 word preamble, (that’s around 3.5 words per second) which must be some kind of record for NZ so called journalism. The preamble to the question is loaded with Labour party talking points which are presented without any countering perspective. Now the internet is divided over who should be held accountable.
