Arizona State’s 7'1 FR Mor Massamba Diop had a very impressive debut vs southern Utah Diop notched in: 14 Points 5 Rebounds 3 blocks 2 assists 6-8 FG Prior to coming over from the states, he was developing very well in Spain for two of the most illustrious clubs in Spain with Real Madrid and Gran Canaria At 7’1 he moves very well, has the ability to handle the ball in transition, doesn’t look awkward with any movements, very athletic… the full package for an upside big. Made some good reads as a distributor as well. Talented.

The Top 10 showdown in Waco, TX between the Horned Frogs and the Bears saw 119 combined points, 14 combined touchdowns including a pick six and a 94-yard kickoff return, 1,267 total yards, and a 21-point 4th quarter comeback. Baylor trailed by double digits on multiple different occasions, including by scores of 14-0, 21-10, 44-30, and even 58-37. The Bears trailed by 21 points with 10:40 left in the game before rattling off 24 unanswered to win on a walk-off field goal as time expired. The game had massive ramifications for both teams of course, but also for CFB as a whole. TCU’s loss ultimately kept them from making the CFP that season, allowing Ohio State to sneak in as the 4-seed and eventually win the national title. Had TCU won this game (or if the Big 12 decided to hold a conference championship), CFB might look significantly different today in terms of where the TCU/Baylor programs are, how the Big 12 is perceived, and may have even prevented some conference realignment decisions if OSU/the Big Ten didn’t win the title in 2014, and it instead went to Alabama/Oregon and the PAC-12/TCU and the Big 12. If TCU got into the CFP in 2014 instead of OSU, the B1G would’ve had a 21-year natty drought from OSU’s in 2002 to Michigan’s in 2023. The WNBA has completely mismanaged its biggest star in Caitlin Clark and it’s sad to see. Caitlin Clark didn’t do it alone and there are a number of current and former players who helped pave and maintain the way, but Caitlin Clark has been the primary catalyst for the WNBA’s new media rights deal, new CBA, having to move games to bigger arenas, getting private chartered flights and so much more. Yet when she is targeted in ways on the court that aren’t about basketball, it’s brushed aside as “physicality” or “just the way we play in the W”. No. What Alyssa Thomas did to Caitlin Clark was not about basketball. What Alyssa Thomas did to Angel Reese was not about basketball. It was a cheap shot. It was dirty. It was done on purpose. And it’s hurting the WNBA as a whole. What’s also sad is that because of the mismanagement of Caitlin Clark by the WNBA as a whole, the fact that HISTORICALLY INCREDIBLE BASKETBALL IS BEING PLAYED in the WNBA and it’s not being talked about enough. There is so much greatness happening in the WNBA, and it’s being ignored because people don’t want to celebrate it when the league won’t even protect its own players from unnecessary targeted behavior. Some people don’t want to celebrate the WNBA when the league won’t protect its most marketable player that is the driving force behind its increased awareness. But I will say the quiet part out loud. The facts today still show that far too many people are making things in the WNBA about race or sexuality and not the results. Drawing a line in the sand and defending any player’s dirty play just because of the color of their skin is wrong. We shouldn’t be denying the truth of what we see and situating or views of the truth along color lines. Caitlin Clark and every WNBA player wants to compete at the highest level.
