Especially on his day of canonization (whenever that may be)

He was easily the most misunderstood pope, that's for sure. And in spite of what naysayers will tell you, no, it was not his fault that alot of stupid people took what he said out of context, intentionally or otherwise.

He was the first Pontiff to operate under the microscope of the internet and hourly news cycle and avoided a major scandal for nearly two decades. All while displaying grace.

It all started about 20 years ago. I used to see this older gentleman at a coffee shop, always meeting with young men, and it left an impression on me. I eventually struck up a conversation with him, and he told me that God had called him to help younger guys avoid the mistakes he had made. [Open it up ↓]

Do you mean the Pachamama is a real deity?

Oh boy. You fell for the pachamama hoax? I thought everyone knew that was fake by now. Here is the reason we know it was 100% fake: The people of the Amazon forest never worshipped pachamama (she was a mountain god) or even had idols. They were animists who worshipped trees and streams. But these people were baptized and confirmed Catholics. So the argument is that a group of Catholics who never worshipped idols let alone Pachamama nonetheless got an idol of pachamama and brought it to the Vatican to bow down to it in front of the pope? Do you realize how insane this is? Plus, we know what the statue was. It was bought from an artist in Manaus (overwhelmingly Catholic city) by the Amazon mission as a sort of logo to represent the Amazon mission. Like all art, people interpreted it in a number of ways (some saying it represented life, some saying it represented Our Lady) but ZERO people interpreted as a pagan god that was not even worshipped in that region. It was part of a collection of art they were supposed to bring to represent the amazon. They brought canoes, baskets, chairs, clothers, and the logo. All the prayers were Catholic. We have the audio. Zero idolatry. The whole scandal is just so fake. I am shocked anyone believes it.

I would bet the worse ever, than that of the papacy of Alexander. —TC is a cruel order, indefensible —FS is another terrible declaration. Including saying that “every religion leads to God” This is where we separate as Catholic. I can not submit to these errors.

TC : His concerns were legit. It was not done out of cruelty but out of an honest concern for the unity of the body. Whether it was effective or not is debatable but calling it an act of cruelty is ridiculous. FS : Totally fine document that changed nothing The all paths thing is the world's least charitable interpretation. There is a sense in which any religion can teach us certain truths about God. But, as Pope Francis has said throughout his papacy, only Jesus can save.
