American breaks down her student loan debt and shows how loan companies are hiding the real interest charged - She borrowed $46,280 - She now owes $101,406 - The loan website deceptively puts she’s only paying $18,889 in interest but that’s clearly a lie - If you click on the little (?) on the website it shows that they’re adding even more interest in the principal section How can a $46k student loan turn into $101,406… this is outright Usury and should be federally illegal “I am almost 40 years old. I could pay on that for the rest of my life and never pay it off. And that's the con. That's the goal. They never wanted people to pay off their student loans. They wanted a constant supply of passive income for the government.”

I bumped into this video from Songezo on tiktok about SA's recent World Bank Loan. A couple of things need to be clarified here. The loan is not about direct investment on the said infrastructure (not a single watt will be added to the grid, not a single km of rail will be added), is it a loan to support PSP policies around the future of SOE's and forced energy transition. He says the loans, provide cheaper interest than local loans, this is not correct WB loans are foreign currency loans with interest normally higher than in the market where the loan is sourced. Compared to local interest they may look cheap but they are not because you can't control $ movements and access. Lastly World Bank loans come with conditionalities that strips the country of fiscal and monetary sovereignity. Any serious country won't allow that.

The Trump Administration is officially putting an end to Joe Biden’s illegal student loan bailout attempts. No student loan has been referred to collections since March 2020. But starting on May 5th, U.S. Department of Education will resume involuntary collections for borrowers with defaulted federal student loans. Debt cannot be wiped away – it just ends up getting transferred to others. Why should Americans who didn’t go to college or went to college and responsibly paid back their loans – pay for other Americans’ student loans? If you take out a loan – you must pay it back.

The interest is more than the loan, by the end of the payment, I owe $128,610 — What the hell is this” He says he can’t afford the payments so was offered a payment plan. If he takes the payment plan, by the end of it he will actually owe more than he owes now That’s not all, he has another $250,000 loan for medical school “I have $250,000 in loan through the med school that I haven't even considered yet that I don't want to think about. So I have $300,000 in direct debt, but if I put include the interest, then my debt is actually over half a million dollars” No wonder America is facing a doctors shortage, who could ever afford to pay for school
