Fast View Synthesis of Casual Videos paper page: Novel view synthesis from an in-the-wild video is difficult due to challenges like scene dynamics and lack of parallax. While existing methods have shown promising results with implicit neural radiance fields, they are slow to train and render. This paper revisits explicit video representations to synthesize high-quality novel views from a monocular video efficiently. We treat static and dynamic video content separately. Specifically, we build a global static scene model using an extended plane-based scene representation to synthesize temporally coherent novel video. Our plane-based scene representation is augmented with spherical harmonics and displacement maps to capture view-dependent effects and model non-planar complex surface geometry. We opt to represent the dynamic content as per-frame point clouds for efficiency. While such representations are inconsistency-prone, minor temporal inconsistencies are perceptually masked due to motion. We develop a method to quickly estimate such a hybrid video representation and render novel views in real time. Our experiments show that our method can render high-quality novel views from an in-the-wild video with comparable quality to state-of-the-art methods while being 100x faster in training and enabling real-time rendering.

I have archives no one thought to save for AI training. True AGI will not understand the universe, no matter how many billions of simulations it makes without the 1000s of hours I have curated from real life. Now simulations are good for some things but not all things. This video clip is about the context: sound, visual, mindset, addition, health and more. You don’t get this online, you don’t get it from 2022 YouTube. Unfortunately for AI folks, they don’t yet understand how vital this stuff is.

The attack took place at the border port between China and Nepal within 7minutes. There are no dams or reservoirs here. It is a no-man's land in the Himalayas, Natural disasters.

3D scanning and rendering is moving so fast - got my splats up and running and I'm mind blown getting ~100fps for this complex 3D scene ⬇️ 🤯 1. WAY faster than NeRF: For comparison, NeRFs would takes around 10 seconds per frame (!) Instead I'm zipping around with FPV controls without breaking a sweat - though I do crash a few times towards the end of the video lol 2. Old Meets New: Gaussian Splatting is cool in that it fuses classical graphics and deep learning techniques. Like NeRFs, this is still a radiance field - just without the slower (ne)ural rendering part. 3. Explicit Representation: Instead you represent a 3D scene as a collection of ellipsoidal "splats" called gaussians. Each gaussian has a position, size, and color. Rendering in real-time is done by projecting into the image plane and alpha blending. 4. Photorealistic Effects: Gaussian splatting use spherical harmonics to represent the view-dependent effects and lighting - allowing surfaces to change color when viewed from different angles, enabling greater photorealism. It doesn't use a neural network, but the training loop is similar to deep learning. 5. Enables Direct Editing: But it's not just speed - with Gaussian Splatting you also get 3D editing support! So you can select, move, and delete stuff, even relight stuff. This type of editing has been more tedious to do with NeRFs and their implicit black box representations. 📲 More tests cooking! I downloaded this app so you don’t have to. Politics aside, this is an incredibly horrible app that feels so bad it couldn’t have even been vibe coded. The app launches to a very loud and bright (and compressed) video explaining what the app does. There are 5 different font families throughout the app. The article viewer is just a WKWebView but has a custom scroll view (why?!). Every header is sticky and opaque for no reason. Opening a tab for the first time in a session flashes a white screen. Looking up anything just shows “why the democrats are evil” type stuff about anything that might show the Republican Party as negative. The app constantly freezes. Every button takes about a second or two to load the content before doing anything visually (like switching tabs). This app does not understand safe areas. Without any animation it randomly kicks you into a full screen view asking to enable notifications. The header shrinks slightly when animating for no reason. If the content doesn’t expand beyond the screen height (like a failure to load) then it will just jitter. There is no color contrast. No color even makes sense.

No one witnessed Tyler Robinson. No video or any witness testimony of him, a gun, or any forensic evidence at all. Except dna on a rifle he owned that wasn’t tested for residue and did not alert any of the dogs. The footage never shows a gun or a clear shot of his face. It appears to be multiple people or he changes outfits. There is no evidence matching any bullet to the gun they claim was used. The only “evidence” they have are text messages that don’t sound real that have not been made available to the defense to analyze. Text messages can be sent by anyone. That isn’t evidence. And a confession that doesn’t exist and a claim his mother recognized him from the footage that we now can all see. That statement has not been made available and probably doesn’t exist, and it doesn’t matter. The video doesn’t show any crime and it’s not clear enough for any positive ID. There are mountains of circumstantial evidence that turning point USA conspired to either kill Charlie Kirk or cover up his murder. There is an end times cult that is convinced that in order to bring back Jesus they need the US to lose to Iran and the world to turn on Israel and burn. That’s a fact btw. That’s what Ben Shapiro and Trump and kushner and the “pastors” surrounding Charlie believe. They are claiming anyone that is NOT in their world destroying death cult is in fact in Candace Owens cult. People who don’t think Tyler Robinson killed Charlie Kirk and Erika is a crazy bitch. Everything I just said is obviously accurate. It never ends well for death cults. This is not the first and it’s not the last. I recommend staying far far away as they destroy themselves
