The law would require ICE to detain illegal aliens who are charged with theft. 170 Democrats voted against the bill, but the reason for that may not be what you think. We say 170 Democrats likely vote against it because the bill itself reads like an attack piece on Joe Biden and it seems to lack standing. If Republicans really wanted to make change, they should have left the political attacks out of the bill. You aren't going to get Democrats to support a bill that attacks Democrats. This is the problem with Congress today. They can't just pass laws without trying to demonize each other. What happened to Laken Riley shouldn't happen to anyone else.
