Some scary stats on China's militaro-industrail complex's capacity: - China casts more metal products than the next nine countries combined and >5× the US. - Its shipbuilding capacity is ~200× the US (a total-capacity figure, not per-ship speed). - It makes ~90% of the world's commercial drones, and controls... show more

Since this post got popular, here are my sources. 1. Casting: 2. Shipbuilding: 3. Drones: 4. ~1 billion weaponized drones / <1% of assembly capacity:

Not scary, reassuring. China seems more and more like the adult in the room, rest are crazy warmongers. If they can stop WW3 to break out by keeping the crazies in check, the world should be eternally grateful.

Where the main components for the IRGC and Russian drones are actually mass produced And the IRGC financed China's MADO MD-550 engine manufacturing (MADO or the MD abbreviation was named after the IRGC front Oje Parvaz Mado Nafar Company اوج پرواز ما دو نفر which means altitude of flight we two individuals in Persian). The Chinese company sells the IRGC partnered engines on Alibaba. That's how deeply China is involved in the Russian and IRGC's drone and missile programs that are part of the military industrial cooperation treaties that China, Russia, North Korea and the Islamic terrorist regime have had since the 1990s and early 2000s! And the fools in Washington ignored the terror proxy war that the China-Russia axis have been waging against the US for so long!

China is a mercantilist power. It will manufacture almost anything as long as you find the right manufacturer and settle on a right price.

There's no need for that. No war with China is going to last long enough to retool any factory. Currently China already has 3 or 4 factories making Shahed type drones. Information leak said that when Chinese government bought shahed type drones, they order in units of 1 million.

Why is this "scary?" The Chinese DO NOT want to govern us. They want us to leave them alone. Yet we insist on surrounding them with bases, losing trade wars with them, etc. That the PRC can defend itself effectively is a global public good!

No matter the belligerents, war is scary imho

Fully agree. Hopefully we can just leave them alone. It's hard to be optimistic about that these days.

"shipbuilding capacity is ~200× the US" - dude are you drunk?

China has the capacity to build PLA combat ships at 200 times the rate that the US can, per leaked US Navy intelligence

build bridges not bombs

You know what is really scary? The Virginia Block V

Congratulations to our Chinese friends.

Just FYI, the US has quietly built the largest fleet of drone boats and ships for the US Navy with much more coming down the assembly line. They are getting more capable and being armed with more payload. It's not as daunting as you think.

@jasonwalters85 Attack who? Their biggest foreign customers? Those factories cannot survive without the outside world since internal demand collapsed…

@grok How many could be fitted with meaningful onboard chip to provide them autonomous capability or at least satyelite/mesh comms?

And anyone with eyes half open should have rung the alarm bell 20 years go.

pretty scary, with all that military capability I wonder why it hasn't bother going to war with any country. It's almost if they actually want to deal with disputes peacefully like a grownup. As opposed to us.

不战而屈人之兵,他们永远不会懂

...that video hardly qualifies as "mass production."

仔细想一想,如果你是中国的敌人,那么这些无人机将会轰炸你。如果你是中国的朋友,那么这些无人机将会帮你轰炸你的敌人。

你是不是算少了一个0

And then... what?

Fun fact: nobody can attack the US because then chip manufacturing goes to zero. We have the only mine in the world with quartz pure enough to make crucibles for casting silicone wafers.

Yup it will need drones cause their army has zero morale and zero real life experience.
@Robotbeat That is a bit wild.

It was planned this way, sooo have a "Great Reset"! 👺

You think China can whip the U.S. in a fight? You think China would even dare to throw down with the U.S.? If so you're an idiot.

They might be able to produce some chassis and motors, but they are still far behind in regards to production of advanced chips, especially at that scale, and imports are not cheap. What do you think would happen to food&fuel imports? What about silicone from Spruce Pine?

The Shaheds are a copy of the Dornier DAR from the 80s and has been copied by lots of different countries including Russia and the US, but the chinese have managed to reduce its productiion price to $10000

Better thank the war gods that their military is so corrupt and untrained, that all those capacity will probably go to waste in case of real war.

If China is so great why are they producing a decade old drone produced by Iran? US for example produced a new version.

Their economy is totally reliant on exports. We need to replace their goods and squeeze their exports

this is bad

If China ever had to attack a country, the world would boycott China, and then China would collapse. China knows this!! USA GDP is 89% created internally!! the only country in the world!!

Eurobros, here's a useful link (only the engine): The body you can make it yourself. Now is time to learn how to mix fertilizer with diesel and play above Brussels.

And, from where are they getting their oil?
