The late great Gerald Sinstadt did commentate on some great and iconic goals. He was old school, kept it simple, didn’t waffle constantly and basically let the pictures do the talking. Having periods of silence after a great goal has been scored is priceless. Commentators today could learn a lot from the likes of Sinstadt, Hugh Johns, Brian Moore, Barry Davies and David Coleman, who were on top of their game back in the day. We were spoiled in the 70s & 80s with top-class commentators!
