Wolverine in this game feels like he’s a rated T character in a barely M rated game.

it reminds me more of miles morales as a game where it tells a good short story albeit super condensed that bridges games together def needed a longer story.All I can hope for is a dlc to delve deeper into Logan’s background leading upto this game and afterwards .

I think it makes perfect sense that this Wolverine doesn’t walk like he has the weight of 200 years of trauma considering a big part of this story is that Wolverine doesn’t remember much of anything from his past

Random thought & question. I’ve wanted an insomniac Hulk game sooo badly i think that would kick ass. Just hypothetically if that were to exist, does Wolverine give you any confidence insomniac could pull that off? Or would you rather them keep their hands off 🤔

I can agree that with all the Sinister and Jean this does seem like it could've been a baller Cyclops game. It almost feels like the "What if Sinister formed the X Men" book.

I would have loved to see that kind of storyline happen with Wolverine. Here's the thing: they could still do it in a potential sequel/prequel. Assuming more people take an interest in this game and buy it at launch. We need to come to terms with the fact that all brand-new AAA games face a massive hurdle when being launched to the public. It's easy to find a small thing and torpedo a game, causing the publisher to lose faith in a potential sequel. There's a lot more consumer confidence when you're doing sequels and remakes, because it's a game they know has been successful. I suspect it's because of that lack of confidence that Marvel was restrictive on what characters can be included in the Wolverine game, Sony was relatively restrictive in terms of what can be added into the game. 300M budget was used for this, and a sequel can reuse some assets, but to develop levels representing a majority of Wolverine's past? They're going to spend a lot more to get that to happen. PlayStation would likely never greenlight a game with that huge a scope until it was proven there would be an audience for it. So, we got what we got here, and they are hoping enough people want it at launch to justify future content.

I'm actually around the same progress as you so far, Rob (I'm at the Logan Cabin level), and I 100% agree. This game just feels like X-Men: First Class + Wolverine to me. No spoilers of course, but there are a LOT of changes made to Wolverine's mythos and none sit well with me.

Only thing i dislike is that they removed the wall run with the claws form the leaks

Overall I have been enjoying the game so far. There are some things I thought could be better but what does stick with you is the game had the potential for perfection if they changed/corrected some things during development.

Would have been sick to play segments were he’s in wars kinda like x men origins wolverine intro with the credits. Be so cool to be running through trenches in ww1-2 and the enemy is freaking out over seeing how much of an unstoppable force him and sabertooth are.its a shame tbh.

They do nothing with Japan and his history in Japan. And I think that’s a crime because wolverine’s history is so tied in with his time in Japan. His wife Mariko, his son I just feel like there’s so much there.

I feel like a wolverine game going over his entire history COULD work but I feel like you wouldn't ever get a long time to sit with anyone other than Essex and Victor in terms of time and connection. I feel a 2nd game going into that could work. Like a prequel because those do

This is a fair take. The potential for the game is amazing, but they just seemed to take the safest route. Definitely an on sale kinda game xD

6/10 games are allowed to exist. Not every piece of media can be perfect, but if it's fun enough it has its place. They also make for good case studies for future projects, looking at what worked and what didn't. Sadly social media is often allergic to nuance.

That’s the one thing I will agree with. With what they made, I am enjoying it but it’s clear as day, that it could’ve been much more epic. I feel like the ideas you said, of what it could’ve been, they looked over it and perhaps that was a mistake.

Fair, but I'll push back on the "look" of Wolverine. Calling him Cyclops with a beard isn't accurate at all. You could shave Hugh Jackman and say the same thing. Insomniac still gave him his height and stature which is more accurate to the comics.

So in the leaks originally that was the plan that’s how you would unlock the suits and claw types but I think those flashbacks will be the dlc missions

Video games shouldnt be telling origin stories for characters as big as wolverine, they shouldve just start right in the middle to be honest.
