An unidentified truck driver dumped the thatching grass that he was transporting at the Christmas Pass in Mutare after it accidentally caught fire. The driver managed to throw out the burning grass before it could engulf the entire truck, and then disappeared from the scene. Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, was visibly furious with personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service who were at the Kumasi-Adum fire scene this evening without water in their tender, yet pretending to work and giving him false hope while the fire was still not completely extinguished. He immediately ordered them to leave the scene with the fire tender.
