The orb in the bottom middle of the new HUD changes color based on your Renown and equipped title, beats red while in combat, flashes when you take damage, fades depending on your health %, and also serves as the new spot for the boat button.

The swirls inside it represent: your first magic color, your spirit energy color, and (if you have reached the story part for it) the part of Poseidon's soul that resides inside you. The orb is meant to kinda represent your character's "soul" or essence.
