As an IT tech that has serviced thousands of businesses, I can tell you that when they get upgrades, they just throw away the old hardware in many cases. According to a comment this is DDR1. Kinda worthless unless you're building an old rig. Might as well get the gold back.

True A single DDR stick has ~0.02–0.04 g of actual gold. At today’s gold price that’s maybe $2–4 of gold… while a working 8–16 GB stick still sells for $10–30.Only makes sense if the RAM is already dead, free, and you’re processing thousands of them.

I have 2 Home Depot boxes of dead ram sticks that date back to the 90's. When the ram is obsolete and dead, the gold is the only thing worth extracting. Now you need a lot of it to justify spending a lot of money for the chemicals tho
