I'm sorry if I sound ignorant, but is the D-74 a terrible gun? It seems to be on par with the D-30 at least from everything I read, obviously they more than likely come from North Korea, but still better than the WW2 guns they're pulling out

It's basically a WW2 gun technologically, designed to replace the A-19. It entered service in the 1950s and its design dates back to late WW2.
