Somehow, I had not seen this until the other day - Christopher Cross and Dudley Moore performing “Arthur’s Theme”

If you didn’t know what Christopher Cross looked like, you’d never guess this was him. He has an amazing voice.

Dudley was a genius, both as a comedic actor and first and foremost as a musician, which gets seriously overlooked. This is a wonderful example of his musical talent, when he was at the absolute peak of his Hollywood fame.

Once MTV really hit nationwide, his career was over, unfortunately. Voice of an angel, but just not a handsome dude.

So cool. Fun Fact: Christopher was the original owner of guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Number One" 1962/1963 hybrid Fender Stratocaster. Vaughan purchased the guitar at Heart of Texas Music in Austin in 1974, one day after Cross had traded the guitar in for a Gibson Les Paul.

Well, that's annoying. It took almost until almost 1.30 to see Dudley Moore's face. Bad camera work....🤦‍♀️

Saw him live last summer with Toto. Amazing concert and sounds the same✌️

So great. Can’t believe they shot it in a way that avoids putting Dudley Moore and Christopher Cross in the same shot for most of the song. After the beginning, you only see the back of Moore’s head and would never know why this is different than another other video of the song.

I really truly hope that humanity is still keeping the “yacht rock” spirit alive. These soft hits from the 70’s (yacht rock) was, IMO, a special time for us in music. Were they up there with Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones or Stevie Wonder of the 70’s? … decidedly no. BUT! They were some DAMN GOOD songs. Well written (mostly), Well produced (if not overproduced sometimes) but they popular as shit! And I feel like almost every household had at least 1-2 YR records../ one of which was likely “Minute by Minute (doobie brothers).

It may not be yacht rock, but Dudley had a nice line in what might be described as yacht jazz.

This is so 80s! Just play this if someone asks what the 80s were like. And Dudley Moore was just an incredibly talented guy. His acting was always engaging, even in bad movies and he was an incredible pianist. The biz discarded him and his ending was very very sad.
