Someone as respected as Zach Lowe so obviously did zero prep work before discussing Sam Presti’s exit interview. Presti literally brought up coach comments. Sure, disagree with his thoughts on the matter but it’s laughable to say “what about the coaches” when it was addressed.

I still think (and it’s undeniably true!) Lowe is great. It’s just objectively hilarious that his complaint about wanting to hear Sam address coaches was in the same answer he’s referencing and he could’ve just listened to the answer instead of reading a tweet and gotten to react to the topic he actually found interesting.

Then fucking Spurs homer and sentient horse's ass kirk Goldsberry, "all the narratives are true".

He might’ve had the funniest quote of the show boldly proclaiming “I listen to the ENTIRE press conference…” when he too didn’t know Presti brought up the very point they’re discussing him not talking about. He tries to be a know it all and the people in this business who do that are doing it to compensate for their lack of ball knowledge.

It was a really weird aside, especially since none of them actually bothered to listen to it

They got to Lowe, too.

I think there’s something about working at the Ringer that makes people lose their minds

@ZachLowe_NBA got caught up by the machine in this one. Went with a quote or a clip & obviously failed to watch the entire exit interview. I understand it was a long interview but if you’re going to bring it up probably should have at least listened to the entire thing.

@AndrewKSchlecht should call him out next time they do a pod together

The ringer influence does that

He’s calling out the general paranoid attitude the FO has that everyone is against them. Hoop Collective talked about it too. The media, especially Zach, has been speaking very highly of the Thunder all season.

My criticism of ZL isn’t about his takes regarding OKCFO but it is simply the fact that he longs for Presti to discuss what coaches around the league think of OKC rather than social media and Sam did that very thing. That’s just factually inaccurate to position this as if Sam only discussed the social media aspect of it

The worst part is the end of the vid where Kirk Goldsberry just cannot help himself, but agree emphatically. Pathetic 'yes men' like him, speaking on huge platforms, is exactly how these stupid narratives get out of hand in the first place. Not to mention his huge Spurs bias

I’ve said this before I’ll say it again. This has been Zack Lowe for the last like year or so

Zach Lowe is 100% accurate here…. It’s not just ppl on social media, it’s coaches, players, and gms in the NBA who have been screaming about SGA flopping

He’s factually inaccurate as his point was why didn’t Sam talk about the people in the league like coaches who bring it up and he did in fact bring that up

@TheReal_TCliff Could be wrong but I think his point is more so why is presti bringing up social media at all when there’s coaches in the league bringing it up

@Rylan_Stiles @TheReal_TCliff Presti spoke to both because both are similar yet seperate issues. Zach didn't watch the full press conference and got it wrong.

@DrG_PoopyPants @Rylan_Stiles He didn’t. He’s saying nobody cares about randoms on social media, and he’s right. He’s saying the complaints are valid because coaches opponents and gms are all saying he’s a flopper. Nobody cares what dudes what is say, nor should they. So why talk about it at all press conf

@JoshofIsh @ZachLowe_NBA

Sam Presti’s exit interview was as long as a movie, not surprised there's a comment like this at all. 😆

I don’t expect fans to listen to it, I don’t blame any fan or fan run show for crafting takes on the topic via viral tweets but a true professional and one of the best in the industry doing it is really funny

@Cuteghost_0725 I listened to every damn second of it and I would be surprised if most real fans of OKC didn’t..

@Cuteghost_0725 That’s great and I know many OKC fans who did listen to it all but that isn’t expected of fans media before commenting on it should be expected to listen

Had exact same thoughts. He specifically addresses it in the same press conference. Zach has fallen off

Zach has struggled since losing his job at ESPN. He’s had troubling finding his footing at The Ringer and even people who have been diehard Zach Lowe guys are noticing. We live in the outrage and clickbait era and Zach has become a Dinosaur searching for relevance. This is lazy

Used to love Zach But he’s gotten more hot takey and done less homework since working for the Ringer and Bill Simmons I get it gets the clicks and pays the bills but sad to see

Yeah it’s quite obvious a lot of people commenting on the Presti interview didn’t listen to the entire thing. Or even a good chunk of it. Wouldn’t expect non-Thunder fans to listen entirely, but poor form to then talk about it in this way
I was blocked for complaining that the first 22 minutes of his first episode after the title was about the Mavs. No swearing, no name calling. I lost respect for him after that. In fairness he congratulated OKC for 15 seconds, then immediately went 22 minutes on Mavs.

Zach is a total clown.

@ZachLowe_NBA man says media are click bait and this guy literally posts click bait without listening to anything 🤣🤣🤣 You are the 🤡 he’s talking about

Zach doesn't watch press conferences, but claims he does and speaks on them. Bill doesn't watch games, but claims he does and speaks on them.. what's next???

@ZachLowe_NBA has really jumped the shark with his coverage since he came back. He used to be so so good. Now he regularly puts out dogshit like this. Sucks.

All he said about coaches was that post-game pressers have become bully pulpits. He didn't really say much about coaches with regard to Shai. When it came to Shai specifically, that's when Presti made his goofy "playing against 6 people" comment. Goofy to go after Lowe for this

Lowe has a right to disagree with Sam but he was begging for Sam to discuss coaches, Sam did discuss coaches, instead if he did his prep work he could’ve said he didn’t find Sam’s answer about coaches good enough or right or whatever the case is

He discussed coaches generally using press conferences as bully pulpits to get a competitive advantage. Then Presti transitioned to Shai specifically and made his "playing against 6 people" comment.

Expect nothing less from NBA media today, can’t do the bare minimum at all it seems

He’s one of finches henchmen

The irony of mocking “the machine” while you feed it with the exact slop you discredit

OKC season ticket member and I watched the entire Presti press conference. I would hope every OKC would watch, he's a master communicator. Personally I refuse to listen to podcasts... waist of my time.

Hanging out with Bill too much NOT watching NBA content before discussing it for hours.

As much as ESPN is the Empire of Evil, Lowe's work with them was better, he had his column and the podcast was the best. Now it's just hot takes and slandering players like that freaky guy just did with Wemby

Lowe has fallen off. He’s getting more click baity. It’s sad.

AND HES RIGHT! Its been so obvious the there was targets on OKCs back by the media because all we heard was how “unethical” OKC played while Spurs played “ethically.” Yet now in the Finals thet narrative has flipped bc Spurs finally getting found out.. Media is so dumb.

This is the problem with the trend in sports journalism. The decreasing need for accuracy, facts, attention-to-detail vs. "get-it-out, get-engagement" pulls the whole standard down. Even guys normally above that standard can perform lower and lower and still reach the bar.

So now according to OKC nobody watches their games, watches their press conferences or knows their players. Maybe. Just maybe it’s you that is the problem.

You Thunder people are the biggest bitches on earth
