I could use this for simulations! It would be so awesome to snapshot your production configuration and stress test it and test for upgrade fidelity. Problem is we need simulators that are as close to the production version as possible.

Interactive labs over static documentation every time. The fact that someone rewrote Kubernetes components in TypeScript to run in the browser means the barrier to learning infrastructure just dropped significantly. The developer experience matters more than people realize

THIS WHOLE 3-NODE CLUSTER RUNS PROXMOX, CEPH AND KUBERNETES - ON 10 WATTS TOTAL. that clip is three zima boards wired to one little switch, and the power meter reads 10 watts for the entire thing. on those three tiny fanless boards: proxmox running a real cluster, three nodes as one datacenter ceph spreading storage across all three, so a node can die and your data doesn't kubernetes on top, kube1/2/3, plus docker and high-availability failover this is the exact stack that runs in datacenters, shrunk onto a shelf. kill one node and the vms migrate to the other two. it heals itself. and it pulls less power than a light bulb. no server rack, no cooling, no power bill you'd ever notice. the uncomfortable part isn't that it's small. it's that "enterprise infrastructure" was mostly the rack and the noise, and none of that was the actual capability. follow RetroChainer for more ways enterprise gear shrinks to a shelf, and bookmark this before you rent another vps.

It's June 16. My birthday. So I built a Mini version of Kubernetes. You give it a container image → it schedules it, pulls it, runs it, and tracks its lifecycle. What it does: - Submit jobs via a REST API - Move jobs through SUBMITTED → RUNNABLE → RUNNING → SUCCEEDED / FAILED - Pull container images and run real Docker containers - Persist state in Postgres - Use BullMQ + Valkey for scheduling and execution Building this from scratch gave me a much deeper appreciation for how orchestration systems work behind the scenes. There's still plenty to improve, but seeing the control loop model in action was incredibly satisfying. Someone on Reddit built a real operating system using Claude. Not a browser app pretending to be one. An actual OS that runs on bare metal. It's called Fable-OS. The only interface is a sentence. No bash. No commands. You type what you want and an AI agent executes it through direct kernel syscalls. Everything runs in Ring 0. In the demo, the agent realized it didn't have a sound driver. So it found the Intel sound card, built a driver for it from scratch, and played a sound. On its own. The OS writes its own drivers. Evolves itself. The agent's tools are the kernel itself. Open source. Built because the developer got tired of people calling browser apps "AI operating systems." This one actually is.

Hermes just made its in-app browser a whole lot more useful. You can now keep multiple browser tabs open inside Hermes Desktop instead of every new page replacing the one you were already using. And that matters more than it sounds. Because this is not just about “having tabs.” It means Hermes can work across multiple pages without forcing you to keep losing your place every time you open the next thing. Research one source, keep it open, open another tab, compare them side by side, and keep moving. Check a few products before buying something. Look at multiple hotel or travel options at once. Keep a YouTube tutorial open in one tab while Hermes looks through docs or another page in the next. And because this lives inside Hermes Desktop, you are not limited to one basic browser view either. You can keep multiple tabs open. You can view two pages side by side. You can stack them top and bottom. You can even run a four-panel view when you want several pages open at once. So the browser inside Hermes is starting to feel a lot more like a real workspace instead of one page you keep replacing. There is also some nice polish that comes with it. Browser tabs now label themselves based on the page, and the address bar behaves more cleanly while pages are loading. And remember, this is the same in-app browser Hermes can already read, click through, type in, scroll, and annotate. So this is not just a prettier browser. It is a more capable workspace for the browser Hermes is actually using. If Hermes is going to do more of your work on the web, this is exactly the kind of browser upgrade it needed.

I built an entire Gothic basilica with Opus 5.5, and I’ve open-sourced it. ⛪✨ Basilica of Celestial Light is especially close to my heart. I genuinely loved creating this church. Working on it brought me a real sense of peace, and being able to share it with everyone feels just as meaningful. Everything was created with Opus 5.5, entirely in code. No external assets: no imported 3D models, image textures, or audio files. The architecture, stained glass, landscape, lighting, and soundscape are all generated at runtime with Three.js. You can walk through the nave, visit the crypt, climb the bell tower, explore the gardens, or take the guided tour, all directly in your browser. The project is open source under the MIT license. Explore it, learn from it, change it, fork it, and make something of your own. I’d genuinely love to see what others create from it. This might be the best "AI Engineer" I've tried so far. ​ I'm an old school developer who started 30 years ago. I feel very uncomfortable letting AI take control of my code, but for the sake of science, I spent two hours building an application that took me weeks to build a couple of years ago. ​ I used Pythagora, a brand new tool backed by Y Combinator. They just released to the public. ​ Keep in mind that I use AI every day to write code, but Pythagora is something different: it's a tool that leads, and uses you—the human—as the copilot. ​ I go into more details in the video, but here is the TLDR; ​ 1. Holy molly! We've made a ton of progress on this front! This is way better than Devin when I tested it a few months back. ​ 2. Love the approach of generating a plan with sub-tasks before writing any code. ​ 3. The tools never tries to do too much: it tackles every small task one at a time, and gives you instructions so you test everything. ​ 4. It does exactly what you'd do when it gets stuck: writes a bunch of logs and uses those to correct itself. Pretty neat! ​ 5. It's fast. It runs locally. It's an extension to Visual Studio Code. ​ I'm impressed, but I don't think this tool is for me. ​ I'm not the type of developer who's ready to relinquish control. I felt I had no connection with the code because I didn't write it. It was not my code. ​ I know many people who don't care about this. I know many people who will get tremendous value out of Pythagora. I hope they keep pushing the limits, providing feedback, and helping this get to a point where old folks like me feel more comfortable using it. ​ Don't take my word for it. The best thing you can do is to give it a try and see how you feel using it. ​ Thanks to the team who built this, for all of the explanations and support, and especially, for sitting and listening to my dumb questions for 2 hours while I tested this.
