Shouldn't basic Yoruba reading skill be required to engage at this level of discourse? Fine fit, though!

My thoughts also while watching for the first time 😁

His argument is compromised by his mispronouncing of two basic Yoruba terms, repeatedly.

I strongly disagree w/ his premise re European methodology. We are to be thorough. How thorough one is depends on one's attention to details & extensive verification. I, for instance, would have looked for many ese ifa for patterns & other refs to back that particular ese ifa.

I agree with you

This bro is equally guilty of not doing due diligence. You can’t be taking about Ifá and be saying Esè Ifá instead of Ese Ifá. Ìkólè instead of Ìkòlé.

Lol 😆. I am happy for a debate but I didn't learn much from him either. Is it a non-existent Ese Ifa or an incomplete one? If incomplete, he spent more time discussing the problem than providing correction.

Exactly my thoughts. I think it's a incomplete verse and the translation, hence the conclusion, by the author is faulty

@eta_habyb I don't think it is an ẹsẹ ifá cuz there is no way they will dífá fún elédùmarè at all in am ẹsẹ ifá

@eta_habyb Hmmmmm 🤔 🤔 🤔. Angle

This exactly is the beauty of research, he just highlighted a huge theoretical gap and since he understands what was missing, he should just take it upon himself to write a paper and fill the gap while criticizing existing literature that failed to properly address the ęsę ifa.

House Negroes, especially those indoctrinated by Abrahamic religions are our greatest problem in Yoruba land. No matter their level of education, they will always undermine and bastardize our culture and religion to suit their faith.

He blatantly mispronounced two simple Yorùbá words, but he had the guts to criticise a professor. And who said an ẹsẹ̀ Ifá (if the text was actually correct) can't be excerpted? Like any typical religious text, you can quote a section and not everything.

He just wants to trend ni, Because normal normal, even his grandpa cannot query Prof Falola...and I am talking as someone who has most of Prof Falola's books, and also have Complete TOMES on Ifa, all the 256 Odus.... Ab Ifa verse was quoted here.. you don't expect the full odu in order to make a point.... Social media is indeed a leveler..

For somebody who couldn't pronounce 'ikole' well.

🤣 🤣 🤣

He is speaking a lot, but he isn’t saying much. And as a person interested in this topic, I can’t take you seriously if you can’t read Yoruba at all basic level.

If you are talking about Yoruba Philosophy and its history then there's need for a criticism which is the essence of the book. D author is not absolutely saying he is right. U can put yours to writing and correct whatever you think is wrong. Yours is not absolutely rite either

Once I see that esu being address as devil. I know this ant be true.

Anything not from waasere is trash 🚮 all these end time historians being planted to distort history en, una don jam the wrong generation to mess with

Ikole!! Ikole!!! E-cor-ley! Ikole ayé, Ikole ọrùn!

Not ṣọnṣọ as pronounced by you, but ṣonṣo(mimimi) you've got to learn about intonation, as in...do - re - mi

Shonsho ko, shonsho ni

❤️

It's probably made up

Baseline the Ẹsẹ Ifa quoted in the passage is a faux ẹsẹ ifa.

One of the greatest misrepresentation was making Esu the same as the biblical devil which is false

Immediately I heard esua interpret to devil, I know it’s fake. This is actually true fake book. That’s what we were saying the other day to wasere guy.

He should contact the prof, if the profis still available.

This dunce cannot even read Yoruba properly, and he considers himself knowledgeable enough to criticize another person!!? 🤷🏾♂️

You can't even read Yoruba properly and most likely not an Ifa initiate but you must talk.

Toyin Falola’s books are questionable. I will never quote that man for anything.
