Similar to western Pacific Ocean-based typhoons, it appears the mountains are "bouncing" or influencing Melissa as it nears, nudging it unexpectedly back NW before landfall. IF this continued, more highly populated Montego Bay could take the catastrophic eyewall once it crosses the island this afternoon.

Early afternoon Lake Geneva and surrounding areas got hit with significant straight line wind gusts! Units from around all of Southeastern Wisconsin were called to the city with a MABAS 5th alarm for the extensive amount of damage in town. Being that it is the Fourth of July weekend there were a large amount of tourists outside and on the lake as the storm rolled in. Therefore extensive rescue boats and sonar teams were requested as well to help in the efforts of saving boats and other water vessels that were affected. Reports have come in of missing persons on the water as the search is ongoing.
