Someone made a bonehead decision not to check the engineering diagram on how to flip this expensive casting.

How did they expect that was going to work? You can look at the very first frame and tell exactly what is about to happen

I just had some PTSD when we use to flip our turbine casings. Very stressful to coordinate.

This has to be ai... that's the stupidest pick ive ever seen

Seems fine. Americans always worry too much about silly buzzword nonsense. Words like "safety", "quality" or "undamaged products". So prissy. If we wore more sandals in industrial work spaces things would be much easier

Center of gravity management not understood. Lines of action pass so close to cg its basically a mechanism primed for rotation. And the overturning moment is large to start with. This should be an engineering controlled activity given product value.

This is the correct procedure . Problem was the hydraulic still had weight & that's why she got away . Up together , bridge crane hold position let down the hydraulic slowly till bridge crane has all the weight , cut it loose , spin shell 180 & reconnect hydraulic .

Gotta love those Millwrights: “we’ll be here for another month…” Then: “let’s get lunch”

It takes experience and good judgement to handle big heavy things like that, something none of them seem to have. I am also surprised the crane driver did not say "no no no".

That looked like an expensive lesson that will cost a lot of jobs.

Turbine shell, upper half

Someone’s looking for a new job.

The turbine vanes are present.. in a casting of half a turbine.. Im no aerospace engineer, but I'm thinking this is AI..

And I bet it was already months behind schedule 🤣.

Pshhh we used to flip castings that were 1.5x the crane capacity with minimum wage functional alcoholics.

Well, they definitely have the facility and the resources to look like they know what they're doing...

@jerrywaynear14 … This is not skilled trades !

I was always crossing my fingers whenever they were flipping our turbine casing!

What a funny song and also fire them all.

😳

Well it’s hopefully not totaled. It didn’t hit the ground.

@tomas_lamy c’est cassé.

Hey, didn't hit the ground, nobody is fired, yet...

Yeiks! Bet we will see this in the upcoming ITI classes 👀

Lucky they didn’t crush an outrigger

Maybe the plan was stupid af. But what was the plan at all? I don't even understand what they were hoping for.

Poor overhead crane carriage 😂😂😂

Doesn't look damaged.

Operator in the overhead crane wet his pants

Always raise both ends fully, then lower one end only.

Casting????? 🤣🤣🤣

No damage to the cast.

I haven’t seen that video @zanehengsperger put on instagram but this seems like the scaled up version of what he did.

hey, we are giving you 25% off on this one. Why? Ummmm, well, there is no warranty, or commissioning, and, well, balancing.
