Im 55 yr old black man grew up in the hood in Cleveland joined the Army to get out. Bought a house and raised a family in a white middle class neighborhood kids all graduated from a good school 3/4 graduated from college all have professional jobs now. House will be paid off in 4 years. Only time I was ever called a nigger was when I was a kid in Cleveland and it was by other black folk. When I got out the hood I never look back

I mean, I wish them well but not once have I sat back and spent one second of my time thinking of anything derogatory. As a matter of fact, some of my favorite preachers are black. Namely Gino Jennings. He’s not the same denomination as me but I just love his passion for Christ. My daily routine constantly of - I wake up everyday, pray for kindness peace and health, then I go about my day with the purpose to be kind with everyone I interact with. That’s it.

I didn't have black friends when I was a child. We were all just 'friends' and color didn't matter.

Clif - you are so much like a guy I worked with side-by-side, everyday, 6 days a week, 12 to 14 hours a day, for a couple years, about ten years ago. He got promoted and transferred on the railroad. He’s like family to us and we still stay in touch after all the years passed.

I went to high school in the south in the late 80s. We were all just friends. I don’t know where all this racial tension is coming from. But I’m guessing it’s the same people that always try to divide and conquer.

In 1989, one of two black students in my senior class was voted as our class president. A young black man in small town Kansas, a 4A high school. Life was so good for everyone in the 80s and 90s. I wish we could go back.
