The announcer at the beginning of Sega Rally replays is exactly the voice we should hear when having an NDE (Near Death Experience) and experiencing a Life Review.

V Rally was also a classic 👌

I'd probably play more PS1 racers if they had made an official PS1 wheel. I know there's 3rd party stuff but it's not easy to come by and not really consistent when it comes to the controls.

Shit frame rates?

Like Manx Superbike

True!

It's a vibe man... Simpler times.

Top Gear Rally was amazing

Sega Rally was amazing. I love how visually the tracks are just floating on top of the backgrounds!

i love the cardboard cutout crowd it was definitely an aesthetic

Oh my old memories...

Late 90s rally race games were fun

Easy right

I really like this game. Because of it I started to like Celica/Delta/Stratos. When I was kid tried many times to 'unlock' the cpu cars😆 By the way, nice driving skill!

these games just have so much soul

Is this the latest remember trend? Seen at least 5 of these 90s racing tweets this morning.

Bro that soundtrack is stuck in my head with just rotating max dood fan art 😂😂😂

It was great being a kid experiencing these at arcades in real time.

why can i hear a song from breath of fire 3 in this lol

@maximilian_ That music …

I remember my Saturn came with Sega Rally included and a demo of Nights.

The soundtrack and pixels……greatest Combo

Yeah no throttle control

They added throttle control for the ‘Plus’ rerelease in 1997.

@maximilian_ It’s all tha pixelated goodness - pure nostalgia. Plus some great games that played so good.

Hell yeah! Those graphics and physics were so realistic back in da day🤯!

I love that there are indie devs out there trying to recapture that, but you can tell a lot of them are making the design decisions they wish the Segas and Namcos of the world had made back then, instead of trying to understand why those older devs made the decisions they did. Once we square that circle, we'll have a second golden age of arcade racing. I see all the potential in the world in devs like Repixel8, Textilis, Rozz Games, 3goo, DDI, etc etc etc. I have all of the confidence that we are on the cusp of an arcade racing renaissance and it's going to be devs like them that usher it in.

Game developers are so boring. These days we could have a huge world where you travel to different rally races in your rally car. Sandbox type of driving like this. Id play it, be something different

The slideshow framerate at the start is killing me 🤣

Twitter compression man… the game runs at 30fps at all times. 😩

Great game, the music is a bit gae

That's just you, dude.
