apparently someone read that tweet with their eyes closed 😭 for context, a huge part of michael’s choreography was inspired by black artists and old hollywood performers. the tweet isn’t about who invented what, it’s about seeing michael carry something he was already trying to

do as a child into the artist he would later become.

next time i’ll tweet like this: beautiful move by michael here, with a subtle touch of fred astaire in top hat (1935), a hint of charlie chaplin in modern times (1936), and clear inspirations from james brown and jackie wilson. hope this helps.
