Earth doesn’t travel around the Sun in a perfect circle. It moves on an ellipse. At perihelion, Earth is about 91.4 million miles from the Sun. At aphelion, that distance stretches to roughly 94.5 million miles. Closest and farthest aren’t the same…and that difference shapes seasons, solar energy, and long-term planetary cycles.

So if you where to use a Time Machine. You would have to travel all the way back to where earth once was. And it would be so far away. You would have to track and calculate the location precisely. Question for you! So if you wanted to travel back to November 6 1915 at 2:00pm. How many miles would you have to travel to get to the location of where the earth used to be in 1985?
