Databricks is excited to partner with OpenAI on GPT-5.5, their latest frontier model. GPT-5.5 will be available in Unity AI Gateway on launch. You can use it with coding tools such as Codex, or to power your enterprise agents. GPT-5.5 is state-of-the-art on many benchmarks including OfficeQA Pro, our benchmark for evaluating grounded reasoning on enterprise tasks. We are partnering with OpenAI to co-launch on Databricks. Hear more from our co-founder Patrick Wendell and OpenAI CRO Denise Holland Dresser on GPT-5.5 in Databricks.

This is Ultrafast. Our premium speed tier, Ultrafast offers up to 8x faster token generation (300 tokens per second) in Codex and up to 6x in the API.

I compared Claude Fable 5 to GPT-5.5 in this Power Rangers prompt Thing is, Fable 5 is using Low thinking effort and GPT-5.5 is using xhigh Safe to say, the results are... not even close. 5.5's output is bad across the board, from the UI to the actual voxel scene itself🥲 1st video: Claude Fable 5 (Low effort) 2nd video: GPT-5.5 (xhigh)

Opus 4.8 for planning 🤝 GPT 5.5 for implementation Claude is a nicer conversation and /grilling partner than Codex in my experience, but GPT 5.5 on low cranks out higher quality code in fewer tokens. Here's how I divide up the work:

Live on Cline (v3.67.1) OpenAI 's GPT 5.3 Codex. The speed and token efficiency improvements are real. Here is what's new: > 25% faster than 5.2 Codex > #1 on SWE-Bench Pro (4 different programming languages) > Fewer tokens per task than any prior OpenAI model Runs cost less and finish faster. You can use it in Cline right now without setting up an API key. Select the model and try it on your repo.

Something very fishy is going on with GPT 6 in ChatGPT. OpenAI says they are serving 6 sol (not 6.1) but it performs way better than 6 sol did in codex. I connected ChatGPT to Chat on steroids (best chatgpt to codex mcp rn) and it created this Minecraft clone in 17 minutes. One shot. Way better than I would have expected. And the best part: chat is basically unlimited and free. Repo:

⚡️OPENAI: GPT-5.6 SOL IS 54% MORE TOKEN EFFICIENT ON AGENTIC CODING Sam Altman says the new GPT-5.6 Sol model is 54% more token efficient on agentic coding tasks and is “as good or better” than competing models. He also said OpenAI aims to offer better value with “every enterprise now is thinking about spend and the value they’re getting in exchange for AI.”

🚨 codex users!! I tested GPT-6.1 Sol at max and.... it is BAD I gave it a prompt to create a motion graphics video it used: - 2% weekly limit (15% 5 hr limit) - 1.7 Million tokens - 58 minutes of work - $1.8 API usage So... the model is EXTREMELY efficient and usage for GPT-6.1 Sol is "better" You are getting 370 Million tokens in total per month!! and a total of $360 worth of API usage And ALSO speed and quality is so "low" that you'd better use Astra or get a $20 Claude Pro for Sonnet 5.5 Opus 5.5 did a LOT better than this video Your choice now. Imma go with Claude tbh

OAI has to be prioritising low/no thinking GPT-5.5 inference, it's so fast. I think this is better than high thinking, so much less annoying, so much more token efficient.
