I was at the dentist and realized that society is also not setting up parents any other way nowadays. All the colouring pages and toys gone, no search and find books, etc. When I was a kid there was always stuff in the waiting room to keep me occupied but not my kids.

He’s not a parent. Otherwise would have said “us parents” and not “parents”. His argument suggests that if your child touches an iPad, they’re effectively an “iPad baby”. Gen alphas problems are real, but I’d call this lady a good mom. Go back to your World of Warcraft. 😜

I agree with her. My granddaughter has an iPad and she really only uses it when we go on a road trip or we go to a restaurant and we go to a restaurant that once a month she’s rarely on a phone as well. Some parents truly know how to limit screen time. Don’t be so quick to judge.

You can tell hes no where close to havin a kid. Gen alpha might just be fkd up because everyone was forced to stay inside and wear masks everywhere. Covid hit the kids the hardest...like we said it was going to.

I disagree, adults love talking and lingering at restaurants, kids don’t want any of that, having an iPad keeps them entertained. I’m not saying let them have it for the entire time just when everyone’s done eating and they are getting bored and fidgety

bc they’re stressed out and giving a baby the ipad seems like a cute short term solution. but ppl don’t like to look at the effects of their actions, so they ignore it and blame it on something else

If I see a kid in a restaurant using an iPad my first thought is that the parents are using the iPad to help the child behave in a public place. They’re trying to prevent a kid from crying and are therefore are being considerate to other diners.

Honestly it's incredibly difficult to keep kids from any sort of screen these days. We've dug this hole ourselves as a society. It's so unhealthy for childhood development. Sure, there are some constructive programs and apps, but those aren't the ones typically used.
