This song ‘Just Like Heaven’ was released by The Cure almost 40 years ago. 🤯 When we see all these older artists & bands, the first thing you notice is their voice has left them. They just don’t have it anymore. Which makes Robert Smith’s voice that much more amazing. He sounds exactly the same playing to 40,000 people recently. 💯 What were you doing back in 1987 on October 5th, the day this song was released?

This was without a doubt one of the most intense and hyped up moments within all of Dragon Ball Super, especially early on during its original airing following the brief recaps of the Battle of Gods and Resurrection at movies. And to see Super Saiyan Blue Goku go and stack the Kaioken on top of his power to battle against Universe 6’s Legendary Assassin Hit in 2016 was nothing short of spectacular! And the fandom went crazy when it happened too. Very fun times 🔥

One of the biggest reasons "Love My Way" by the Psychedelic Furs sounds so different from other early 80s songs is Todd Rundgren. By then, Rundgren was already one of rock’s most creative producers, having worked with Meat Loaf, Cheap Trick, and Hall & Oates. He was known for unusual sounds and pushing bands outside their comfort zones. Rundgren also played the unforgettable marimba part on the recording himself, the hypnotic riff that became the song’s signature sound. The band reportedly worried it sounded too commercial and too polished for their darker post-punk image. Ironically, that became part of its magic. There's been a lot of talk about '80s animatronic bands over the years, like The Rock-a-fire Explosion and Chucky Cheese Etc. (probably because of FNAF), but one that's been all but forgotten is Namco's robot band PicPac. They've not had much press in the west, just a brief cameo in Namco Museum Vol. 4 on the PS1. But the internet usually loses their collective sh!t over stuff like this.
