2020 was the peak of woke insanity. Statues were torn down. History was erased. The left convinced itself that destroying our past was somehow progress. The Voting Rights Act wasn't about giving Black voters special treatment. It was about stopping hostile politicians from using fake excuses — "it's just about literacy" — to hide what they were actually doing. It let courts look past the excuses and take account of the results. That protection is now gone. The high court has essentially decreed that we are in a post-racial nirvana. But that declaration from on high doesn't make racism disappear. It just makes it invisible to the courts. And it creates an opportunity for NEW fake excuses from the politicians drawing the maps. What was the justification in Tennessee this week? "Partisan advantage (not race!)." Calling something “purely partisan, not racial” doesn't make it so. Sometimes people say something is one thing when it's actually another. The wiser legal system that MLK fought for knew that - and it gave the court tools to look past the label to the reality. We just lost those tools. That's bad for everyone! Majority black Memphis is proudly represented by a white Jewish man. This was never about the skin color of the office holder. It's about whether a large group of black voters gets to send a representative of its choosing to Congress.

lando about the DSQ: “from what i had to do in the race, there was already some expectation that it might happen. so it wasn't a shock, it wasn't a surprise. we knew we were having a lot more issues than we ever expected during the race and that led to already the expectation that some things might not be as we expect. maybe it would have hurt more if we won the race, but we didn't so it didn't change. it doesn't change anything. there's no point being too sad about it. of course everyone in the team was a bit gutted about the result because there's a lot of effort that goes into it. so yeah it's the same for everyone but like 0.1 millimeters or whatever, it's like a piece of paper. so it was frustrating but actually i was quite okay, just excited to go again this weekend. it doesn't change anything i want to try and win in qatar and try and win in abu dhabi. so yeah it sucks, but that's life sometimes”

It was last year in April while we were working for the relief & rehabilitation at #Khargone & #Sendhwa that I received this unexpected call. It was Asaduddin Owaisi sb who called to enquire about the situation there. Over almost a months time, we talked on many occasions. I briefed him about the relief works we were doing there & he shared the works by AIMIM team. His team worked with many survivors of violence & communal demolition at Khargone & Sendhwa. In the #Haldwani demolition that was later stayed by the court, we also talked about the legal approach and other mitigations. In past 10 days, while working with the #Nuh relief works, he has called me many a times and not just a call, his team is working with some relief works. Every time I talk to him, I feel the same pain in his voice as if he is there with the survivors and seen things through his eyes. It is beyond any doubt that he is one of the finest & bravest political leader of our times. One may criticise him or disagree with him but it is impossible to be like Asaduddin Owaisi sb.
