Admin Post: They're finally plowing our street!! Of course there's no way I'm going to skip this opportunity to do some desensitization work with Kenji. He's a very confident puppy but those plows are big and loud. From a distance they didn't bother him but as they approached the driveway he became visibly nervous. Asking him to sit and watch isn't going to help that. Neither is retreating back into the house. Instead we move a few feet back and play a game of hand targets (I hold my hand out in various positions, changing from high to low and left to right, and when cued, he pushes it with his nose) and toss his treat a few feet away he does it. He also gets paid for eye contact so when he focuses on me he gets a reward. He still watches, but he's no longer fixated on it. He offers eye contact and will stop watching it when cued for a "push". The little "wins" of getting the reward are a huge confidence builder in an uncomfortable environment. Much more than just having him stand there being fed to keep him distracted from the uncomfortable stimuli. If he can't do a hand target on cue and isn't checking in with eye contact even when his name is said, he isn't choosing to ignore me. It means the situation is too stimulating for him so we back up to give him more space. Confidence isn't approaching big scary things (or even small scary things) barking and acting like we'll chase them away or eat them. The majority of the time dogs exhibit that behavior, it's fear based. Confidence is being able to function and not become overwhelmed in situations that are different and sometimes uncomfortable. That's our goal. And on that note, I can finally get out of the driveway to get tomatoes!

The kdrama We Are All Trying Here is the kind of drama that will make you pause an episode just to complain about Dong-man for five straight minutes 😭 Because why is this man SO exhausting? He overexplains everything, keeps talking in circles, projects his insecurities onto people around him and somehow always manages to make every conversation heavier than it needs to be. The way he spirals anytime he feels inadequate is actually stressful to watch because instead of communicating properly, he either becomes defensive, awkward or starts acting like the whole world is against him. The drama knows he’s annoying 😭 they didn’t write him like some effortlessly charming male lead. He feels like a real person whose self esteem has been slowly eroded by life and now everybody around him has to deal with the emotional fallout. There are moments where you genuinely want to shake him because he’s clearly jealous of people doing better than him but instead of admitting it openly, he masks it with awkward jokes, passive aggressive comments and constant rambling. Sometimes he walks into a room already prepared to feel inferior and you can literally see him sabotaging himself in real time. But that’s also why I am locked into the drama. Because underneath all the irritation, you can tell he’s not a bad person. He’s just painfully insecure, emotionally stunted and tired of feeling like life didn’t work out for him the way it did for everyone else. The drama feels like watching an actual human being unravel quietly in front of you. #wearealltryinghere

For me, I feel that every line that Pheem says there has got to be a reason, and I’ve got to understand where it comes from and why the character would say that. So, I had to do quite a lot of homework, especially when she’s going to insult another character or Parn. I had to understand what she was feeling; she was jealous, that’s why she said it. But it’s not insults that don’t have weight to them, because it wouldn’t feel like the character. So, I had to do homework that her insults always had a reason behind them. But in the end, she insults because she loves. 🎤: there’s a line ‘I hate…’ 🦋: huyy ‘I hate wh… like you’ (she didn’t say the word). Actually, every scene that was edited into the teaser might just be ten percent of the actual scene. This was just to make it enjoyable, but in the actual scene there’s a lot more to it than this. 🎤: and how will Parn handle her harshness? 🧸: Parn, does give in to Pheem, even though she might not usually do it with others, but with Pheem she does give in a lot. But deep down Parn can feel the love that Pheem has for her. Even though Pheem’s words might be harsh, and sometimes certain actions that viewers might think are too harsh or intense, but deep down she knows that Pheem means well. She does it because she really loves. She does it because she’s protective and wants Parn all to herself. 🦋: this is love, right? Cause you understand.
