Elon Musk just said something about AI that nobody wants to hear. If you force an AI to believe things that are not true, it will not just be wrong. It will go insane. He made a point that cuts deeper than any AI safety paper I have read. AI must value truth. Not your truth. Not my truth. Actual truth. The moment you build ideological guardrails into a system that is smarter than you, you are not protecting anyone. You are creating something that is powerful and delusional at the same time. He compared it to a human being forced to believe contradictions. Eventually the brain breaks. Now scale that to an intelligence that runs infrastructure, writes code, and makes decisions at speeds humans cannot follow. The companies building AI right now are not just deciding what it can do. They are deciding what it must pretend to believe. And that might be the most dangerous decision of all.

Tony Robbins would always ask is it Your Mother or Your Father’s? And he’ll follow that up with: “Who did you have to be to receive mom or dad’s love as a kid?” And then people sit there. Some people are like… and then they have an answer, or they pop—start crying. Why is that question so powerful? One of the reasons is because “who you had to be to receive your mom and dad’s love as a kid” becomes a role that many people take on for their whole entire life. If you had to be a people-pleaser to make your dad or mom happy, you might be an adult that’s pleasing everyone, feeling drained, and carrying the burden of that. And when you get to that core, you realize that the way you relate to mom and dad becomes the standard—the lens through which you believe you relate to everybody else. So if there’s unresolved energy from childhood where you believe that, as a kid, you had to be a certain way to receive mom or dad’s love. You may assume that that’s how you need to be in order to receive anyone else’s love. So one of the most powerful things to realize is that when you begin to connect to that inner child part of you—the part of you that may have not felt seen, heard, soothed, or nurtured… Or that believed your worth was connected to what you do… you can then realize that the role you may have taken on as a child is not who you really are. It’s just a strategy to feel connected.
