I knew a guy like this in primary school who was desperate to succeed in tests and tried his ass off but all the time but failed pretty much everything and it really got to him but he always kept trying I always think of him when I see this scene

Lisa needs to remember that Bart (as well as lots of people) struggle in school. I haven't watched the simpsons in years so I don't know if she ever bragged about being smarter than him after this episode (other than that one clip of his birthday) so please let me know.

This hurts when you've been through the same thing.

I really love how the teacher had actually a soul and listened to his knowledge instead of going " well, you could have studied harder. try next time. " I think a lot of teachers need to use that technique and give the failing student one more chance with open question if that person got too stressed out with making choices.
