During his historic visit to New Zealand, PM Sh Narendra Modi Ji, while addressing the Indian community in Auckland, paid heartfelt tribute to the timeless teachings of our Sikh Guru Sahibs and the rich traditions of our faith like Langar Seva performed by Gurdwara Sahibs and Sikhs all over the world. PM Modi Ji’s deep respect and affection for the Sikh community are reflected in several visionary initiatives undertaken during his leadership. From strengthening Sikh heritage sites, opening of the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor in 2019, befitting celebration of 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, 350th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, removal of GST from Langar Seva & FCRA approval for donations and providing better connectivity to holy sites of Sikhism, to declaring December 26 as Veer Baal Diwas, among several other initiatives. I felt terrible sadness and shame. Guilt. Remorse. I bowed my head in forgiveness and gratefulness. My community, the Kashmiri Saraswat Brahmins, owes its very existence to the ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Tegh Bahadur Ji, who sacrificed his life to protect us from annihilation at the hands of the Mughal barbarian Aurangzeb. While the historical memory of the Guru’s immense sacrifice is preserved, there is no pilgrimage by Kashmiri Hindus to Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Chandni Chowk, Delhi—where the Guru was beheaded—or to Gurudwara Anandpur Sahib in Punjab and Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, where his head and body were cremated, respectively. What is even more disheartening is that today, November 24, the day commemorating the Guru’s supreme sacrifice, most of us fail to teach our children about its significance or the gratitude we owe to the Sikh Gurus. We all are contributing to our collective forgetfulness, sliding deeper into an abyss as a community. Out of deep regret and profound respect, I visited Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib today. Punjabi singer Bir Singh apologized for the mistake that happened recently in Srinagar, where he sang Punjabi songs during a program commemorating the 350th Martyrdom Centenary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Bir Singh said that throughout his singing career, he has always sung clean and respectful songs. He also mentioned that he had come directly from Australia to Srinagar, and upon reaching there, his phone network and other services stopped working. The biggest mistake, he admitted, was on the part of his management team, who did not provide him with the correct details about this program. Earlier, they had done some commercial programs with the Punjabi Sahit Academy, and based on the same format of those programs, they started this one as well. “I went straight to the stage, and since my entire attention was on the audience, I did not notice the banner displayed at the back of the stage. This was my mistake, and I should have gathered complete details about what the program was about before performing,” he said. When they realized they were making a very big mistake that this program was actually dedicated to the Martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib they immediately acknowledged their fault, apologized to the sangat, removed their shoes, and recited Salok Mahalla 9. Bir Singh further said, “I accept this mistake of mine. I have dismissed that management team and will never work with them again in the future. Moreover, for any future programs dedicated to Guru Sahib’s history, we will ensure proper decorum is maintained.” He humbly requested the Akal Takht Sahib, Jathedar Sahib, and the entire Sikh community to forgive him for this mistake. “Whatever service you consider appropriate, I am ready to accept,” he added. “I am a humble Sikh, and I believe the Guru Sahib and the Sikh sangat are forgiving. In a lecture being organized by Punjab University, speakers associated with the RSS have been invited in a conspiratorial manner to speak about the history of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and the Panj Pyare. The question is: Is there a shortage of historians in Punjab who can speak about Sikh history? Such actions raise doubts that Sikh history is being presented according to a particular ideology to mislead our younger generation. We strongly condemn this. What is even more unfortunate is that the aware students who were protesting against this were subjected to a baton charge by the university administration and the police, cases were registered against them, and reports of disrespect towards the Sikh articles of faith (the Kakars) have also emerged.

I condemn the massive use of plastic material to put up lacs of flex boards all over Punjab to celebrate 350 years martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur ji with pictures of Bhagwant Mann ! Because once these plastic boards outlive their lives they will pollute the environment very badly as plastic cannot be consumed naturally by the earth besides sacrilege to the holy pictures of our Guru. Apart from above reasons AAP government has wasted hundreds of crores of people’s money on unproductive publicity of such type merely for eulogization of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann because Guru Teg Bahadur ji resides in the hearts of people and doesn’t need such useless publicity-Khaira Congress Punjab Congress

During his visit to USA last year, when Thalaivar K.Annamalai visited ‘Shri VenkataKrishna Kshetra’ Temple in Arizona, unlike others he didn’t do archana for his own family members. Instead, he did archana for Modi Ji and Amit Shah Ji. I was there with him, I was expecting him to mention his family members’ name and nakshatira for archana. Myself and other people present there were astonished to see the respect he has for Modi Ji and Amit Shah Ji. Also do remember, when he got the very first opportunity as Vice President of TN BJP to be present on the stage along with Modi Ji back in 2021 for the very first time, Thalaivar chose to hit the roads to clear the traffic as a typical police officer and ensured Modi Ji’s visit then was a smoother one. There is NO WAY Thalaivar would’ve avoided receiving Modi Ji when his name is included!!!
