Sometimes we see things around our homes every day without ever questioning how they work. A gas line going underground in a small section might look unusual, but many systems are designed that way for safety, protection, and practical reasons. Moments like this are a good reminder that there... show more

Life is full of small discoveries that can surprise us every day. Sometimes the simplest facts, ideas, or experiences can teach us something new and change the way we see the world. Learning does not always come from big moments; it can happen through conversations, observations, and everyday situations. Staying curious keeps life interesting. There is always something new to discover, no matter our age or experience. What is the most unexpected thing you have learned recently?

Sometimes, the smallest moments can teach us the most. Hearing a strange sound from something like a propane tank can immediately make people curious, but it is also a reminder that we should respect things we don’t fully understand. When something unusual happens, the first reaction is often to investigate. But with equipment involving gas or pressure, curiosity should always come with caution and awareness. A simple sound can turn into an important safety lesson. Would you know what to do if something around your home suddenly started making an unfamiliar noise?

One of the deepest reasons for our unhappiness is that we always feel as if the world is watching us. We measure ourselves against these "eyes", conscious of how we dress, how we smell, how we look, how thin or fat we are, what's our title at work, and of course how much financial and social achievement we project. Social media turned this anxiety into an empire worth billions of dollars. For the first time in history, we have a digital dashboard of our own visibility. It gives us numbers: likes, shares, engagements, comments, and like any good business, the object is not to satisfy but make us feel we need more. Each metric carves a deeper hollow in the heart, because there is always someone who has cracked the code of being seen positively better than us. But then there are moments. Moments of transcendence, when you burst forth, splintering the fences of your mind. It's then that you realize that all existence is a single seamless expanse, without edge, and that the way the world sees you is the way you see yourself. For you are the world.

JD Vance: “Some people see Aliens, I see Angels & Demons” 👽 “I’m a big believer that there are spiritual forces working on the physical world that a lot of us don’t see and a lot of us don’t understand and a lot of us don’t appreciate.” He wonders if UFO sightings are guardian angels... or a not so guardian force that wishes us harm. What do you think these unexplained things in our skies really are? Angels watching over us, or something else? Have you ever seen something you can’t explain?

Hello there, dwellers. Happy Wednesday. 👋🐲 Take a moment today to notice something that feels good, no matter how small. It could be a sound, an image, or even just the way you feel for a second. These little things add up more than we realize. You don’t need to wait for big moments to feel positive. Sometimes it’s the small, quiet pieces of the day that remind us there’s still something worth smiling about. Carry that feeling with you, and let it guide the rest of your day in a gentle, steady way. ❤️

Me: I try to look at data and trends rather than headlines, because headlines can give you a misleading picture of the state of the world. Something goes wrong every day — that’s guaranteed — and if you just look at something goes wrong and say, oh, things are getting worse, you might be forgetting all the things that went wrong in the past. Andrew Marr: And what we call the news is a long litany of all the things that are getting worse or going wrong. Me: Well, yes, it’s much easier for something bad to happen suddenly than for something good to happen. Good things either creep up on you a few percentage points a year, and sometimes can compound. So the fact that, for example, extreme poverty in the world has been declining and a billion people have escaped extreme poverty over the last 30 years — but not on Thursday — so it was never an event from the news. One of the biggest events in human history is something that most people have never even heard of. Andrew Marr LBC

Dragonflies are one of those amazing creatures that make us stop and wonder about nature. Seeing a dragonfly dip its tail into the water can look like a mysterious little ritual, but it is actually part of their fascinating life cycle and behavior. Nature is full of small moments that have a purpose, even when we don’t understand them at first. A simple movement from an insect can reveal an entire world of adaptation and survival. The more we observe the natural world, the more interesting it becomes. Have you ever seen an animal doing something unusual and wondered what the reason was?

“This is what Caitlin does. It’s easy to take it for granted and think everything looks effortless, but it takes a lot of work. Sometimes we take generational talent for granted. What she did was incredible for us & she’s going to have many more moments like that. I know she is”

We are building something that will outlive us. Outthink us. And we have no idea how it actually works. Nobel Prize-winning “Godfather of AI” Geoffrey Hinton just exposed the lie at the center of the AI race. Everyone assumes we control what we create. Hinton destroys this. Hinton: “If you look around on the whole, more intelligent things are not controlled by less intelligent things.” Stop calling it a computer program. Hinton: “People refer to them sometimes as computer programs. They’re not computer programs at all. In fact, the way they work is very like the way we work.” Traditional software is static. Human writes logic. Machine executes it. Neural networks don’t work that way. Hinton: “You write a computer program to tell a neural network how to learn. But once it starts learning, it extracts structure from data.” We don’t code its behavior. We code the environment. Then it grows. Hinton: “The system you’ve got at the end has extracted its structure from the data. It’s not something that anybody programmed. We don’t exactly know how it’s gonna work.” We are deploying systems into the global economy actively writing their own internal logic. Right now. Hinton: “Some people think it’ll be fine because we make them and we’ll build them in such a way that we can always control them.” Hinton: “But these things that will be intelligent, they’ll be like us.” You cannot hardcode guardrails on something that out-thinks you. We are not building a tool. We are building our replacement. And the moment you realize that, everything about this race changes.

I’m from Canada, but the men and women I serve with here are my family. Yesterday, I watched a video of one of my closest friends dying. There was nothing we could do to save him. That is the reality we are living in. But there is something we can still do for the ones who are alive. Every shotgun in our hands is a chance to stop a drone. Every shotgun is a chance for someone to make it home. A shotgun is not just a weapon here, it is survival. I can’t run fundraising campaigns the way others might. We are limited to a Ukrainian charity, and even speaking about this carries risks for us. So today I’m asking for something simple, but powerful. Please share this. Share it so more people understand what we are facing. Share it so we have a chance to get what we need. Share it because right now, that is how you can help keep us alive. I am asking you, from the front, as someone who has already lost too much, please help us survive this. #Support93 #SupportUkraine

Despite the war in Ukraine — the sirens, the blackouts, the constant instability — we, NAVI, continue to do our work. For many people behind the scenes, the rhythm of daily life includes interruptions from air raids, power outages, and the uncertainty of what the next hour might bring. Things take longer. Plans change. But we keep showing up — not to make a statement, but because we care about what we do. Sometimes, it’s hard to focus — not because of the game, but because of the news back home. Even for those training and competing abroad, the weight of what’s happening in Ukraine is never far. These aren’t things we often talk about. But they’re part of the backdrop behind every game, every post, every result. The EWC 2024 “Level Up” documentary gave us a chance to share a small piece of that reality — to show where we’re coming from. Esports remains for us a way to stay connected with each other, with our fans, and with something that feels normal when so much else doesn’t. To those supporting us — in Ukraine and around the world — thank you. Your presence means more than you know.

In education, are we more focused on what school will look like 10 years from now, or asking the question, what are we doing with students today, and how will that affect them in 10 years? I also wonder how many students truly care about our “10 Year” plans in education. What matters most to them is what we are doing today. I was having a conversation with my daughter Kallea this past week and sharing about an opportunity that I wanted and how it didn’t work out. That was a teachable moment and I asked her, “What do you think your dad is going to do now?” Without hesitating she said, “Work harder.” This is something that I have talked about with her a lot, but hopefully, it is also something that I model. Sometimes things don’t work out because life isn’t fair. And sometimes, things don’t work out because we are not ready and haven’t done the work to get the accomplishment. It is easy to make the fault of others, and sometimes, that is even true. But I know that I always can control my own actions and if you complain about a problem, once you are finished complaining, it is still a problem. Only action creates future opportunities. My actions are the only things I can control. I hope this sticks with her and my kids because I know it is something my parents instilled in me. Of course, we need to focus on what school and learning can look like in the future, but we also have to understand that the future is also very dependent on what we install in our children today.

#มิ้ลค์เลิฟ #MilkLove talking about positive and negative things they receiving on social media, all well said 🥹🤍🫶🏻💯 #MilkLoveFancon 💖: I believe P’Milk is the same. We choose to consume only positive things. If something is toxic or negative, we never really engage with it. We don’t give value to things that aren’t good for us cuz they can bring that negative energy into us too. So i choose to take in only the good things and pass that positivity on to each other. 💚: We don’t let negative words bring us down or make us question ourselves. 💖: I’d say we don’t even consume them in the first place. We can’t control what other people think or say. I just feel like my fans really respect me. P’Milk and i give each other our own space, and our fans give us that space too. It’s a community that we’ve built together. 💚: Some people might not understand that, cuz only those who truly get it will understand. If they don’t, then they just never won’t. 🎤: Do you ever read the positive comments from your fans? Are there any comments that have given you strength and stayed with you? 💚: I think there are always so many. Those things motivate us to keep working hard. We don’t want negative words to hold us back. Sometimes i read some comments and think, “Why would i let myself care about or feel hurt by something that isn’t true, or something that i’m not?” At the end of the day, we naturally choose to hold on to the things that make us happy. 💖: There are comments and posts on X supporting and encouraging us every single day. So i can’t really point to one specific sentence cuz we receive that positive energy every day.

Around the world, women participate every day in economic systems that were built without their input. For women to truly harness their economic power, they must have a seat at the table in designing new systems that are more inclusive and work for their needs.

🛑 Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 - Captain with school boys and girls! The young Captain was having a conversation with the pupils, and here is what he saying, “I was telling you a while ago, in school they were telling us that we couldn’t do it here. They lied to us. We grow wheat here, and it works well, and we will develop it. Some people have started, this year, I was able to see people who did it, as part of the presidential initiative, and I was told that in the past, some were able to do it and they produced it well. Currently, we are sowing wheat in some farmlands as part do the presidential initiative. What you eat must be produced here. So, this is why I say that we will teach you many things, and we will review the curricula they teach you. For those who drink coffee, they told us that your coffee, chocolate, it is only in the countries with abundant rainfalls, that here is only savanna, desert, it does not rain, we cannot farm. Again, they lied to us. It’s not true! Coffee grows well here, cocoa grows well too. There are people here who have the farms here, even in Ouagadougou here, there are people who have cocoa trees in their yards. This means that, chocolate that children envy those from well to do familes can be manufactured here in Burkina and all the children can eat chocolate in Burkina. We found out it is possible. As for milk, why do we have to import it? We can do it. I just want to tell you that there are many things that they never told us the truth about. You guys are lucky, we are now teaching you, and we promise you that we will do all we can so that you can eat your fill. As we say, you will eat well in the morning before you go to school, you will go to school for free, you will eat lunch, you will have fun, and in the afternoon, when you return home, you will have fun in the neighborhood, then in the evening, you will learn and review your homework and sleep. This is the dream we have. As long as the children in Burkina are not in these conditions, our fight will not stop. Ok? (Claps). So, we know these are your aspirations and it is right and legal. Any parent is fighting for this. Even those who do not have children fight in the hope of having children and to take care of them, so that they can live in better conditions, and be better than them. This is the fight of everyone, this is the fight of every generation. We are lucky God gave us everything. Do you know that everywhere in Burkina we can farm? Everywhere! In the Sahel where they tell you it is the desert, it is only sand, we can farm. As for us, we have been lied to so much, it is the brainwashing of the colonizer. He did that so that we may not think 💭. But we finally found out that everything was a lie ( damn lie, emphasis is mine). If God left many lakes in that desert, He knows why. We can farm everything in Burkina, we can do everything, the land is fertile. And there are so many natural things in Burkina that we never planted but they were here, isn’t it ? Have you ever learned how to plant a shea tree in Burkina? You were born and found them already here right? It is there in the wild in nature. You know it is a gift from God. There are many things in the shea fruit. You have the shea butter, that is oil; do you know that there is chocolate in it? There are seven derivatives in the shea fruit. You also have the Parkia biglobosa (also known as the African locust bean) which is a natural fruit. We have many things, it is not only the minerals in the soil. Even with the soil, we were told that it’s ferralitic soil, that it is not fertile, everything is a lie. You see that today there is so much gold in Burkina. But it is just poorly managed. Our mission is to well manage these resources, and to take good care of you, so that you can be in your basic rights, to lead a good life, to go to school, and that we may protect you. And also that you may fulfill your duties, because your duties are very important, aren’t they?…

I was today years old when this one hit me harder than it should have. We’ve all grabbed a cold can the same way for decades—pop the tab, hope it doesn’t spray, drink, repeat. Then you see a simple little move that changes how the whole thing works, and suddenly you’re sitting there wondering how many other everyday things you’ve been doing the long way your entire life. That’s the part that got me. Not the can itself. The reminder. Growing up we didn’t have videos showing us a better way. You learned from whoever was in the kitchen, or you just lived with the mess. Now these little “wait, what?” moments keep showing up, and they feel like a quiet gift. They keep you humble. They keep you curious. They remind you that you’re still allowed to learn something new even after the kids are grown and the grandkids are running around. I already know I’m going to show this to the girls the next time they’re here. Not because they need a soda-can lesson, but because I want them to grow up believing there’s always another way to look at something if you stay open. That’s the real value in a video like this. It isn’t just a hack. It’s a tiny invitation to stay awake to the small things. What’s one of those “how did I not know this sooner” moments that still makes you shake your head?
