We measure ourselves against these "eyes", conscious of how we dress, how we smell, how we look, how thin or fat we are, what's our title at work, and of course how much financial and social achievement we project. Social media turned this anxiety into an empire worth billions of dollars. For the first time in history, we have a digital dashboard of our own visibility. It gives us numbers: likes, shares, engagements, comments, and like any good business, the object is not to satisfy but make us feel we need more. Each metric carves a deeper hollow in the heart, because there is always someone who has cracked the code of being seen positively better than us. But then there are moments. Moments of transcendence, when you burst forth, splintering the fences of your mind. It's then that you realize that all existence is a single seamless expanse, without edge, and that the way the world sees you is the way you see yourself. For you are the world.

We are building something that will outlive us. Outthink us. And we have no idea how it actually works. Nobel Prize-winning “Godfather of AI” Geoffrey Hinton just exposed the lie at the center of the AI race. Everyone assumes we control what we create. Hinton destroys this. Hinton: “If you look around on the whole, more intelligent things are not controlled by less intelligent things.” Stop calling it a computer program. Hinton: “People refer to them sometimes as computer programs. They’re not computer programs at all. In fact, the way they work is very like the way we work.” Traditional software is static. Human writes logic. Machine executes it. Neural networks don’t work that way. Hinton: “You write a computer program to tell a neural network how to learn. But once it starts learning, it extracts structure from data.” We don’t code its behavior. We code the environment. Then it grows. Hinton: “The system you’ve got at the end has extracted its structure from the data. It’s not something that anybody programmed. We don’t exactly know how it’s gonna work.” We are deploying systems into the global economy actively writing their own internal logic. Right now. Despite the war in Ukraine — the sirens, the blackouts, the constant instability — we, NAVI, continue to do our work. For many people behind the scenes, the rhythm of daily life includes interruptions from air raids, power outages, and the uncertainty of what the next hour might bring. Things take longer. Plans change. But we keep showing up — not to make a statement, but because we care about what we do. Sometimes, it’s hard to focus — not because of the game, but because of the news back home. Even for those training and competing abroad, the weight of what’s happening in Ukraine is never far. These aren’t things we often talk about. But they’re part of the backdrop behind every game, every post, every result. The EWC 2024 “Level Up” documentary gave us a chance to share a small piece of that reality — to show where we’re coming from. Esports remains for us a way to stay connected with each other, with our fans, and with something that feels normal when so much else doesn’t. To those supporting us — in Ukraine and around the world — thank you. Your presence means more than you know.

I’m from Canada, but the men and women I serve with here are my family. Yesterday, I watched a video of one of my closest friends dying. There was nothing we could do to save him. That is the reality we are living in. But there is something we can still do for the ones who are alive. Every shotgun in our hands is a chance to stop a drone. Every shotgun is a chance for someone to make it home. A shotgun is not just a weapon here, it is survival. I can’t run fundraising campaigns the way others might. We are limited to a Ukrainian charity, and even speaking about this carries risks for us. So today I’m asking for something simple, but powerful. Please share this. In education, are we more focused on what school will look like 10 years from now, or asking the question, what are we doing with students today, and how will that affect them in 10 years? I also wonder how many students truly care about our “10 Year” plans in education. What matters most to them is what we are doing today. I was having a conversation with my daughter Kallea this past week and sharing about an opportunity that I wanted and how it didn’t work out. That was a teachable moment and I asked her, “What do you think your dad is going to do now?” Without hesitating she said, “Work harder.” This is something that I have talked about with her a lot, but hopefully, it is also something that I model. Sometimes things don’t work out because life isn’t fair. And sometimes, things don’t work out because we are not ready and haven’t done the work to get the accomplishment. It is easy to make the fault of others, and sometimes, that is even true. But I know that I always can control my own actions and if you complain about a problem, once you are finished complaining, it is still a problem. Only action creates future opportunities. My actions are the only things I can control. I hope this sticks with her and my kids because I know it is something my parents instilled in me. Of course, we need to focus on what school and learning can look like in the future, but we also have to understand that the future is also very dependent on what we install in our children today.

🛑 Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 - Captain with school boys and girls! The young Captain was having a conversation with the pupils, and here is what he saying, “I was telling you a while ago, in school they were telling us that we couldn’t do it here. They lied to us. We grow wheat here, and it works well, and we will develop it. Some people have started, this year, I was able to see people who did it, as part of the presidential initiative, and I was told that in the past, some were able to do it and they produced it well. Currently, we are sowing wheat in some farmlands as part do the presidential initiative. What you eat must be produced here. So, this is why I say that we will teach you many things, and we will review the curricula they teach you. For those who drink coffee, they told us that your coffee, chocolate, it is only in the countries with abundant rainfalls, that here is only savanna, desert, it does not rain, we cannot farm. Again, they lied to us. It’s not true! Coffee grows well here, cocoa grows well too. There are people here who have the farms here, even in Ouagadougou here, there are people who have cocoa trees in their yards. This means that, chocolate that children envy those from well to do familes can be manufactured here in Burkina and all the children can eat chocolate in Burkina. We found out it is possible. As for milk, why do we have to import it? We can do it. I just want to tell you that there are many things that they never told us the truth about. You guys are lucky, we are now teaching you, and we promise you that we will do all we can so that you can eat your fill.
