Q. What does ‘being myself’ mean to Karina? KARINA: For me! I think it’s being honest. May it be through my actions or words, or how I’m seen, I think that I’m a very honest person. But to be honest, I think I wasn’t like that in the beginning. I used to think that I should present ‘KARINA’ in a KARINA-like way a lot. As I did that, I thought it’d create a disconnect from Yu Jimin, so as I was looking for the middle ground, I realized that being honest is the answer. 🩵

This is brilliant. 'I write a paragraph about why I should take a meeting.' If you should take the meeting it's easy to do, but if you start writing and you're like “I don’t want to do this,” then the meeting is a waste of time. "For the things that I think are really important when I’m like, “I got to write that paragraph, I could write 20 pages. It's easy” A lot of otherwise smart people, don't spend enough time thinking about what they're working on.

I actually don’t think I ever thought that I would be able to make things at this scale. Sometimes with that scale I suppose it’s humorously glamorous, but also it’s sometimes not. There is still a human being at the center of it […] As a human being, like my work, I’m very contradictory. JADE reacts to comments that she deserves to play main stages at festivals: “I think [Little Mix] fans forget that I kind of am a new artist. As much as I think I’m deserving and will get there, I’m not expecting a huge main stage yet. At festivals, you’ve got to earn your stripes. And to be honest, doing the smaller tents is really fun for me, because it’s a bit darker, so for an artist like myself, it’s cool because I can use the stage lights more; I can create more of a theatrical experience. someone commented that says “work has been really hard these days” and this is what jungwon said to comfort them. 🐈: in times like that, you shouldn’t think too deeply, you have to think lightly. when you’re stressed or dealing with overwhelming tasks, i think, “this won’t kill me anyway”. even when i have back to back all-night schedules, i think, “i won’t die. am i going to die from doing this?” that kind of thing. these days, when i’m doing concerts, i hypnotize myself into thinking i’m strong. even when i go to work out i’m like, “can’t i do this? just go for it.” that’s the vibe i go with. 🐈: honestly, there are tough moments during concerts, but if i let myself slack off there, i can’t forgive myself. i can’t let myself think i’m going to lose to this so i go with the mindset of, “i’ll show them”. if i didn’t think like that, i wouldn’t be able to keep up with concerts for months. it’s about self-hypnosis, telling myself i’m strong.
