sonic 1 is such a smart little video game omg

I don’t want to make this negative but I’m so sick of the notion that Sonic 1 is an “objectively bad” game. Sonic 1 is its own experience and was revolutionary enough to kickstart the franchise in the first place, and influenced 2D platformers as a whole during that generation.

i still just find it wild that this game being mad or even like mid is so prevalent like there is a reason this game penetrated the cultural zeitgeist and was literally a system seller for the mega drive

I can't for the life of me call this the worst in the classic trilogy like so many do😭

@KakarottaLeah for me i wouldn’t call it the worst out of the 3 because all 3 are good or 4 if you count CD like all of them are heavy hitters but Sonic 1 for me just seems to be at the bottom and that doesn’t really mean the game is bad at all
