I'll never understand the idea of trashing a specific Sonic game to make another Sonic game look better. This isn't directed at you, I know you playing it off as a joke lol, it's the quote tweets that are irritating.

in general its just harder to defend things you like than attack things you dislike

I blame this website for that

watch, someone's gonna post the super mario 64 "yo this game lit" comparison video

@kyle_r_mod_guy FUCK

@kyle_r_mod_guy LMAO

Yikes lol didn’t even think about that being possible still love it though

this isnt a good metric to complain about sonic games cause its never truly just about beating the level but its pretty funny lol

For sure I just never really gave it much thought in green forest till seeing it here. Actually really points out how much more involved (not by much) the dark side story’s levels are.

Shadows White Jungle has more boxes and blocked somersault things in his way

To be fair, this does actually demonstrate how woefully lacking in challenge SA2 is. And when I say challenge I don’t mean difficulty, I mean actual challenges the player has to overcome. The Superstars clip has constant things to overcome (platforming/gimmicks). This is nothing.

i mean speaking candidly idk why youd come to this series looking for just challenges to overcome the ring system makes literally any obstacle extremely easy to deal with if youre new enough to play games like this

When did I say I was just looking for that. I said there should be a challenge at all. Something the level design presents you with to overcome (enemy, gimmick, platforming sequence). The superstars clip has all of this and the SA2 clip has none of it. This is a bad defence lol

i guess superstars has all of this and sa2 doesnt but if im playing sonic games like this then who even cares about there being a challenge? i can overcome pretty much anything in superstars with just 1 ring and if im playing the game like this then obviously idc about my time

People who want an engaging platformer? Like I said, it’s not the player’s fault the core goal of SA2’s levels (get to the goal) is bad. You wouldn’t have to play as intentionally silly as you did there to understand that, even someone hitting the occasional enemy-

well yea if im not playing intentionally silly then youre right but youre making your point from the context of me playing like this man like this clip isnt indicative of anything besides "if you literally just hold forward youll probably beat this" which is true for both games

No, I’m pointing it out because of how much less resistance you get in SA2 vs Superstars. It is indicative of SA2’s lack of friction.

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I love now this ignores the nature of analog inputs to be technically correct 😭 10/10

man its like 31pi/60 in radians or smth idk

yeah that's why it's funny. you kinda have to set an arbitrary cut off for what is no longer considered "up". its a good joke that points out homeboy's bad faith argument but i think the analog nature of your joke is just a nice little cherry on top

“up” with gameplay of sonic actively being steered

Notice how you had to turn to get unstuck from certain objects

im telling you i just held up the game did that on its own

try shadows version bro u can beat it with only the joystick LMFAO

ypure so goated for this

please say happy birthday to my partner she is so cool :D

TBF tho sa2 is a very linear game, so here it's pretty valid

A fun thing to realize about this is no casual player would ever know this. This is the kind of thing you accidentally find out after running the game for a while. Any casual would have absolutely run face first into most of the enemies in the way lmao.

yea thats part of why this is a bad argument

Exactly.

Oh cmon don't lie to clip farm. It's obvious you're tilting the control stick slightly to keep him from getting halted. You can clearly see when it happens too

Now get an A rank like that

First, your input is not 'up', you are controlling a character in a 3D space with an analig stick Second, someone is getting an E rank. In sum, you fail to understand the concept behind SA2's level design. You should go play something like Forces

They listed that defending mania not to say that superstars is the only game with bad gameplay

this is so weird im watching two very calculated gameplay videos and theyre supposed to be making fun of the games this shit looks badass

fuuuuuuuck bro don't slander my favorite game like that 💔💔💔

Okay but what if you pressed down!?!?!? checkmate atheists!

This shits killin me LMFAO Makes me wonder what's the lowest amount of inputs the games have after seeing it!

i am not built to attempt this respectfully 😭

Yeah don't blame ya, shit just popped in my head while seein it 😭

That’s why the SA2 ranking system is so good. Cause if you want a high rank you can’t just avoid everything. It makes you interact with the level design way more.

I love Sonic levels in the Modern / Adventure Era cause the levels are easy if you want to just see the story. The real fun and challenge is building score and getting through as fast as possible for the A or S rank.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Should do it without touching the stick that'll totally show them

Doesn't happen in SA1 and 06 im just sayin

Pero que 🤯!?

Acting like it’s whole thing ISNT score attack

This is why scoring and time tracking are super important to sonic because otherwise yeah you could just do this in almost every game

Does the camera turn for you or is there a slight direction change on the control stick

the camera just turns for me

I'm trying this next time I play Green Forest, that's so funny lmao

Atp its just every sonic game (same mfs that will complain when there are sonic levels heavy focused on platforming)

Are people finally waking up to the fact that there has never been a good 3D Sonic?

Is this actually pure up input the whole time?? That's wild, I would've never thought to try that
