It even goes back to the Saint Michael prayer that Pope Leo XIII wrote and was instructed to be read after every mass for 80 years. Now, few parishes allow it to be read after mass. Thankfully, my local parish says it immediately after each weekday (non-Sunday) masses. Yet, even the prayer that we know by heart is much shorter than the original prayer that Leo XIII composed. And a key portion of that original prayer is missing: “These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.” The vision Leo XIII had that inspired him to write the prayer was on Oct 13… 33 years to the day before the Fatima miracle. And what has been missing from the Third Secret of Fatima? Word has been that it seemed to point to the same exact issue/problem within the hierarchy of the Church. 🤷🏻‍♂️
