this is spot on. I lived in Los Angeles for a few years. One of my first observations was people don't say hi if you pass them or they don't make small talk. When I brought this up to a local, they said "yeah that's because they assume you want something or that you're crazy." and she was serious. That's just how it is there.

When Rich/famous people says LA sucks what they mean is the rich and famous of LA because that’s who they’re around. The everyday people of LA are awesome. Hard working and accepting of others.
