MADONNA IS NO. 1 IN THE UK 🇬🇧 Confessions II debuts at No. 1 on the Official UK Albums Chart, as revealed a few minutes ago on BBC Radio 1 — Madonna’s 13th UK No. 1 album. With 13 chart-toppers, Madonna now equals Elvis Presley on the all-time list of acts with the most UK No. 1 albums. And she makes history once again: Madonna joins Kylie Minogue as the only two female artists ever to score a UK No. 1 album in five consecutive decades: the ’80s, ’90s, ’00s, ’10s and now the ’20s. The victory comes at the end of a genuine three-way chart battle, with Sienna Spiro’s debut Visitor at No. 2 and Olivia Rodrigo at No. 3, a duel BBC Radio 1 celebrated on air as one of the most exciting of the year. Driven overwhelmingly by physical sales — CDs and vinyl flying off shelves in the streaming era — Confessions II proves that when Madonna calls her fans to the dancefloor, they still show up in force. Queen of Pop. Still writing history. 👑

Madonna arrived at the 2026 Met Gala with Saint Laurent’s Anthony Vaccarello — and this custom look is pure art. Black lace, a ship hat, a sweeping grey veil… anyone else getting major Frozen video vibes? The queen never misses. 🖤🚢 #MetGala2026 #Madonna #SaintLaurent

“I Feel So Free”, the opening track of Confessions II, of which Madonna today shared a short preview, features the spoken lines “Oh, by the way, it all started like this” from “French Kiss” by Lil Louis & The World (1989). “French Kiss” is widely regarded as one of the pioneering tracks of the house music movement — ranked #4 in Time Out’s “The 20 Best House Tracks Ever” and featured in Rolling Stone’s “20 Best Chicago House Records”.

Madonna and Gymskin Finally Met Last Night — Live on Stream Earlier this year, British Kick streamer Gymskin — real name Jack — sent Madonna’s 1985 classic “Into the Groove” back into the UK charts with his viral “follow that tune” clip, where it peaked at number 17 in the Official Top 40. Months later, Madonna and Gymskin have finally met. And when it happened, it happened live, unedited, in front of everyone watching. Gymskin had teased a surprise on his social media ahead of the stream, and after over an hour of live broadcasting, the final half hour took an unexpected turn: he went to Madonna’s London home. The door was already open. She was waiting for him on the ground floor, seated at her desk, dressed in gym wear, and “I Feel So Free” was playing loud in the background. What followed was unscripted and unfiltered. The two talked at length, shared a drink, and Madonna showed him the vinyl of her upcoming album Confessions II, out July 3rd via Warner Records. They also danced together, first to “I Feel So Free”, and then to “Into the Groove” itself. During the evening, Madonna described “I Feel So Free” as a kind of new version of “Into the Groove”. These clips are moments we’ve put together from last night’s livestream. You can watch the full broadcast in its entirety here:

Yesterday we told you about the collaboration. Today, all the details are out. First, the big one: Madonna has confirmed that L.E.S. Girl — the closing track of Confessions II — stands for Lower East Side Girl. As many of you had already suspected. 🖤 Now, the full picture. Madonna is partnering with Bilt to cover one month of rent for every musician at New York’s iconic Music Building in Midtown — the rehearsal and living space where she first found her sound in the early ’80s. In a video Madonna made for Bilt, she also shares the story of how she ended up there: she was living illegally in a building in the Garment District with no heat in the dead of winter, sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag surrounded by space heaters — and accidentally started an electrical fire. She woke up surrounded by flames. With nowhere else to go, she escaped to the Music Building on 8th Avenue. “Artists arrive every day to New York with a dream and more often than not with little else,” Madonna said. “I look back very fondly on this time in my life.” The collaboration also includes: 🎉 Confessions II release parties on July 3 in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago 🎵 A limited edition vinyl with custom artwork and exclusive photos by Raphael Pavarotti, for Bilt members — we talked about it on our previous tweet 🎰 Madonna as featured contestant on Bilt’s game show Rent Free — members can win up to $2,500 in rent A full-circle moment for an artist who arrived in this city with nothing — and changed it forever. Confessions II. July 3. 🖤 #Madonna #ConfessionsII #Bilt #MusicBuilding #LowerEastSideGirl

Ahead of tonight's VMAs, the show's executive producers Barb Bialkowski, Jesse Ignjatovic, Bruce Gillmer and Van Toffler opened up about bringing Madonna back to the stage she has shaped since 1984, for her first live VMAs performance in 23 years. They heard Confessions II "super early on", before its release, and took it straight to her team. Making it happen was far from simple: they called it "a very very difficult sort of lift", with schedules, logistics, budget and travel all having to line up at once. "It all worked out," they said, crediting the hard work on both sides, theirs and that of Madonna and her team, for bringing everyone together in "this incredible moment". Their verdict on the album: "Arguably, you know, one of her best records ever." Madonna opens the show tonight, live from Los Angeles on CBS and MTV at 7:30pm ET / 4:30pm PT (00:30 UK time), streaming on Paramount+.
