Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers
I can't even believe this was recorded 43 years ago, no autotune, no playbacks, just pure talent
One of the loveliest days of my life.
Here's the complete performance.
Listen to Michael Jackson’s real voice with no auto tune.
William Harrison Withers Jr. (July 4, 1938 – March 30, 2020) was an American soul and R&B singer and songwriter. (Bill Withers in 1976)
In 1984, Eddie Murphy told Richard Pryor of his plans to make a musical album. Pryor laughed, betting $100k he wouldn’t do it without jokes. Murphy did, & on the inner sleeve he wrote, “To Richard Pryor, my idol, with whom I have a $100k bet. No, motherf**ker, I didn’t forget.” Pryor never paid up.
Back when you had to have talent to sing.
I wish there were more R&B and soul black singers still active today. Some of my favorite songs of the past 60 years were black men. Hip Hop ruined all of that.
man, bill was singing that studio version live like it was nothing. pure class. we don’t get this anymore.
No sophisticated autotune or modern gadgets that make the job automatic. You’re either good or you’re out.
Bill Withers had great vocals, this is music that will never get old
They nailed every tune. Barry on the other hand...listen the piano at 3:12
@silvinamarq He sings only with his voice, without any electronic additions.
Some voices stick because the truth in them never ages. The words change, the tone changes but the message stays unmistakably the same.
No auto tune- absolute legend!
Some voices are just built different… timeless
Wonderful voice 🥰 iconic
my humour is broken
Bill withers with some bangers… loved his voice… legend.
Me: tries once in the shower Also me: sounds nothing like the record 😂
Yeah, that's it! Bill Withers. Somethink like here (with great Grover Washington Jr.):
Hehe
He does! But the backup singers don’t…
A Yacht Rock classic!
Things used to be better. There wasn't so much populism; it was genuine art.
Man didn’t miss a single note fr 😮💨
Such a distinctive, recognizable voice. Absolutely timeless.
Was always a fan until I heard he was a wife beater? Somebody yell at me and say it ain’t so…?
A Great voice,awesome
Back when a performance involved actually singing instead of lip syncing 3/4 of the song
Amazing
Love love love this song 🎵
crazy talent!
Classic. Never gets old. Real talent, no manipulation.
