Okay so psychology actually explains this. It sucks but here's the deal: Most people who took the vax did so under threat of their paycheck, job (identity, sense of self for a lot of people). This was tantamount to taking away the notion of self entirely. If they were to actually fight back or not take it, they would be forced to do two things at a minimum. 1. They would have to go against their immediate sense of comfort and do lots of difficult things, i.e. find new work (for some people that would have meant dropping a multi-decade career or change life paths entirely while also fighting for scraps. Most people unfortunately are not willing to do this as they value short term comfort (pay bills, immediate certainty) over long term gain (health). 2. For a lot of people, giving up their job is the same as giving up a sense of self. Lots of people form their egos around this and it entangles them in a web of insecurity when it is threatened. People identify themselves too much with work and how they make money. This makes them vulnerable to attacks against the ego or sense of self (job removal); thus not only are they materially manipulated but also mentally. Some people literally can't handle it. They can't handle challenging their sense of self and making sacrifices like changing these things. They cease to be themselves as they were once "known," but in all actuality this was who they were the entire time, it was simply put to the test. So many of us found out who people really were because of this but yeah this is the reason they get so defensive, because making them question this is in turn making them question their entire lifestyle, ways of doing things, and ultimately sense of self or identity. I know this because I chose not to take it and some of my formerly closest family members fell for it and gave in when their jobs were threatened. They changed, they gave up their critical thinking and adopted this defensiveness. I've had this entire time to evaluate this and think on it. Also I'm a very different person than them, not only do I have a degree in psych but also I've taken far more risk in life and had to reflect and change myself more then they have so sacrificing a sense of self or revaluating information and how I need to do things was not as difficult for me. Life already humbled me many times and for that I am grateful because it allowed me to see clearly where others were blind.
