Any post you see being like "OMG STOP JUSTIFYING SPINDLE STOP SAYING IT WAS AMAZON'S FAULT!!" are literally lying and some even admit in their exact posts that they are LYING TO YOU bc they wanna hate guilt-free. Support the artists, lets wait to see where the union takes this.

Hope this gets solved soon. These artists deserve the world

One of Spindlehorse coolest aspects was being the only company indie or otherwise that gave so much liberty to its creators, I really hope this can be fixed soon and that the union finds a way to calm Amazon the fuck down

This tracks. Across industries there’s been recent policy changes regarding conflict of interest & mandatory disclosure, where any income outside an employees FT job is being examined under a microscope

who knew, it was all the fault of that pedo loser who had to put "OFFICIAL AMAZON PRIME HAZBIN MERCH/SONG" in his fuckass music

That would make sense for hazbin but why the helluva stuff ? I didn’t think Amazon/A24 had any say on what they did with helluvaboss . Just that they allowed the show to stream on prime? I can see the policy applying to both just for simplicity, but that still unfair :/

Ditribution deals, Amazon may have some control as long as Helluva is in their platform and Helluva may HAVE to contractually be in their platform until the show finishes production, sinde Amazon has ben giving Spindle budget in exchange of it

making a video as an animator's job doesn't and shouldn't be counted as "merch" selling.

Ive corroborated some of this information myself, I wouldnt post it if it was just some rando saying this. NDAs are a thing and I am also a rando so take my word with a grain of salt. Its not about "merch", its about Copyright infringement, which fanmerch technically falls under

if that was the reason, the staff shouldn't ever sell their merch from the start. An animator was paid to do a video, and if Amazon was okay with staff selling stuff, then this should be allowed? Amazon is the true problem here; ppl blaming the guy or the animator are just-

I mean... technically yes? Staff members usually are not allowed to sell merch, its the standard within the industry, even Glitch has it. But Spindlehorse was always lenient with that bc they understand that fanmerch is a core aspect of fandom. Amazon/A42 was willing to comply-

Bcause they never had an issue with it. Again I am NOT in the staff so this part is highly speculative, but I am guessing it was an "Honor Code" situation- they let it slide because it didnt hurt their bottom line. Now that troubles started presenting themselves, they acted

Its still wrong of them to do so and the artists should be able to fight, but if we talk about Legally... yes, they legally shouldnt be selling fanmerch in the first plce, neither should ANYONE, companies dont like messing with fanmerch bc its more trouble than its worth.

so, at the end of the day, this problem was created because of the company. This was a timed bomb waiting to happen with fan merch. Its like you said, companies don't allow it for a reason.

Thanks for the reupload. 👍 Unfortunately the accounts that gained the most attention about this decided to misinform their followers and attack Medrano.

@SatorRotas Thanks for the update! But I've wondering, would that also apply if, like, they made merch of their hellaverse own OCs?

@Lutecifer I hope this changes
