Priest’s Call for Violence A brutal incident on November 9 has left a Sikh man, Rupinder (Rabinder) Singh Malhi, dead in what Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) condemns as a politically motivated, hate-driven attack. Following inflammatory calls for violence against Sikhs by Hindu Sabha Temple priest Rajinder Parsad, an Indo-Canadian Hindu man allegedly attacked and killed Malhi, a prominent supporter of Khalistan. Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on November 9, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Caledon Detachment responded to a residence on Deer Ridge Trail, where they discovered Malhi critically injured. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. While the cause of death remains under investigation, OPP has indicated there is no immediate threat to public safety, though they advise residents to exercise caution. Preliminary reports from the community indicate that the accused, Rajinder Kumar, was taken into custody along with his wife, who allegedly attempted to conceal the weapon used in the attack. Community sources claim that Kumar and Malhi were previously acquainted, with tensions intensifying after heated exchanges within a WhatsApp group, reportedly fueled by incendiary statements from Hindu Sabha Temple priest Rajinder Parsad. These rising tensions culminated in Kumar inviting Malhi to his home and fatally stabbing him in a premeditated attack, leaving the pro-Khalistan activist dead. “This horrific murder of pro-Khalistan activist Rupinder (Rabinder) Singh Malhi by Hindutva follower Rajinder Kumar is directly driven by calls for violence made by the Hindu Sabha Temple priest and exemplifies how the menace of Modi's violent Hindutva ideology has contaminated the Hindu community of Canada, posing a direct threat to the lives of pro-Khalistan Canadians,” stated Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, General Counsel for Sikhs For Justice. “We demand that authorities also arrest and charge Rajinder Parsad, the priest of Hindu Sabha Temple who issued the call for violence and has publicly confessed that on November 3. Hindus initiated the attack on a peaceful Khalistan demonstration against the presence of Indian consulate officials," added Pannun. SFJ stands firm in condemning political violence and calls for the justice system to hold accountable anyone responsible for promoting the use of violence to advocate or suppress a political opinion.
