President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia has spoken out strongly against xenophobia and Afrophobia in South Africa, saying that South Africans do not have to kill fellow Africans to resolve labour-related issues. President Hichilema reminded South Africans of the sacrifices Zambia made during the struggle against apartheid, arguing that bridges and other infrastructure in Zambia were bombed by the apartheid regime while the Zambian government was supporting Umkhonto weSizwe and the African National Congress in their fight for liberation. Zambia paid a heavy price for that solidarity because it believed in African brotherhood and the liberation of fellow Africans. He argued that this spirit of African brotherhood should not disappear today because of what he described as a xenophobic mentality that has gripped parts of South Africa. President Hichilema said what is happening in South Africa is wrong and unacceptable, stressing that legitimate concerns about jobs, labour and immigration cannot justify violence against fellow Africans. His message is essentially that the solidarity Africans showed South Africans during the struggle against apartheid cannot be forgotten now that South Africa is free.

You can’t be xenophobic to African nationals and expect Africa to support South Africa. This is the bitter truth that xenophobic South Africans are avoiding👇👇👇

🚨 Dr Mmusi Maimane is now echoing what Julius Sello Malema warned South Africans about years ago: "Today it’s immigrants…i can assure you tomorrow it will be tribes." 😳🇿🇦 At first people laughed when Malema said xenophobia would eventually turn into tribalism. Now suddenly ministers across the spectrum are saying the exact same thing. Fellow South Africans better wake up before" Where are you from?" turns into "What tribe are you?"😩

Africa for Africans. We generally agree on that. But different areas are occupied by different people. We are not socialised the same. The conversation being tabled by Native South Africans around African immigrants in South Africa is not being entered to in good faith

🇿🇦 SOUTH AFRICA is not ready to face the whole African continent 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂don’t start what you can’t finish…South Africans paah…it’s funny. “We don’t want foreign nationals to use our medical facilities, documented or not” - South African activist Queen Vee In another video, she clearly said “we don’t want Africans in our country” Honestly, South Africa acting like it’s separate from the rest of Africa just doesn’t make sense. We’re all Africans, simple as that. You can’t benefit from other Africans when it suits you, then turn around and reject them when it doesn’t. If you want to isolate yourself thinking it will fix your country, then that’s your choice…after all, it’s your country. But just remember this… when other Africans also start pulling away from you, don’t forget this moment. Don’t forget this video.

“Look How You’re Be@ting Your Fellow Africans. You Claim Nigerians And Other Africans Are Selling Drugs In South Africa Without Any Evidence, And That’s Why You Don’t Want Them Here. But Indians And Other White People Also Sell Drugs, Yet I Don’t See You Going After Them Or Telling Them To Leave South Africa. So Why Are You Hating On Your African Brothers And Sisters?”. ~ Man Reacts

Africans are hypocrites. When South Africans want to deport Illegal migrants they are stigmatized but when other African nations do the same It’s okay? This is a big shame on Africa . #SouthAfrica 🇿🇦#Nigeria 🇳🇬 #Ghana 🇬🇭 #Africanews #politics #Ghananews

This white foreigner is inciting hatred against African immigrants in South Africa, telling Black South Africans that Nigerians are giving drugs to their children. Umlungu says they need to take over the government and police force to deal with African immigrants.

🚨UPDATE: What’s happening in South Africa must be condemned by all Africans of goodwill. I still remember when Nigerians and many other Africans stood shoulder to shoulder with South Africans in the fight against apartheid. We protested, sacrificed, donated, advocated, and believed their struggle was our struggle. We never asked what tribe, language, or nationality they were. We simply saw fellow Africans suffering under oppression and chose to stand with them. Today, seeing fellow Africans attacked, humiliated, and treated as enemies in the very country we once rallied behind is painful beyond words. The freedom South Africa enjoys today was not won alone. It was built on the sacrifices, support, and solidarity of Africans across the continent. That history should never be forgotten. Life is unpredictable. Nations rise and fall. Circumstances change. The hands that once lifted you should not be the hands you push away. What is happening is not just an attack on foreigners—it is a betrayal of African unity and the spirit that helped defeat apartheid. History remembers. Africa remembers.

“No shop is operating today. South Africans tell African immigrant that they don’t own anything in our country but the shops are closed. This is very sad. The shops are closed everywhere because most shops aren’t owned by South Africans.” — South African man cries out after many shops in South Africa closed.
