In 1950, during the Korean War, I am deeply grateful to the 150,000 Jewish service members who came to the aid of South Korea as we fought to defend our freedom against communist aggression.🇮🇱🇰🇷 Some of them had endured the horrors of the Holocaust, yet they still crossed the world to stand with the people of South Korea and fight alongside us for freedom. Around 1,500 of them gave their lives. Because of their courage and sacrifice, South Korea was able to remain free and avoid falling under communist rule, allowing generations of Koreans like me to live in freedom today. I also want to express my deepest gratitude to the Jewish people and to Israel. Israel also provided South Korea with approximately $100,000 in economic assistance during the Korean War. 🇮🇱💙 As one Korean among the millions who have benefited from their sacrifice, I will spend the rest of my life honoring the debt of love and gratitude we owe them. We will never forget their dedication and sacrifice. And Korea will stand with Israel forever.🇰🇷🇮🇱💙
