It's because of the moisture level in the air. It's the same way in Seattle. Cold damp will go right through you.

Seattle is cold!!! Whew

He says the reason why and I’m guessing you’re posting this with a “tin foil hat” on. 41 degrees 81% HUMIDITY. The humidity is water in the air and due to it being “damp” it makes it “feel” colder. I lived in Jax, that winter it was like this and it is a different cold.

No. I live in Louisiana. I’ve always known it was humidity. I just find it funny people don’t know this.

@aarojas51 The humidity does make it feel colder but our (Phillys) is typically in the 70-80% range in the winter . Stop assuming

@aarojas51 I think Philly is cold. I think Lake Tahoe and Chicago is cold and I hate it.

The higher level of Humidity in the South. There is a dry cold and there is a wet cold. Moisture draws heat away quicker.

It’s called humidity. It’s why Colorado can be 32 degrees 20%, and it’s not bad, but 32 and 80% humidity in ATL and you’re cold to the bone.

Humidity. It's 0° here right now and I was just outside in my sock feet. We have no humidity. When I lived in Seattle it felt so much colder at 35° than it did here at 0°.

From the South and the coldest “Winter” I ever experienced was Chicago in Oct-Nov. The wind kicks ass way harder than southern humidity

I think Lake Tahoe, Chicago and Philly are cold. It’s humidity.

@JaySlim I haven’t been to Tahoe but I agree on the other two.

@JaySlim I was standing there on the beach in October freezing my butt off. It was cold AF.

Your used to the warm in the south, so the cold feels colder.

It's common knowledge that as you age you get more sensitive to cold making things feel colder When he was young at that fort he probably could do things in a t-shirt that'd make him like he's experiencing hypothermic shock at now It's really not that hard to understand🧐

True. I’m old and cold all the time.

I disagree. In NY at 50’degrees I’d wear a jacket. In Florida I wear a t shirt and LOVE it. My neighbors have full length down coats and scarves covering their faces to walk their dogs. I haven’t worn a jacket in probably 4 years.

Depends on the humidity.

Facts!! I’m from central Illinois originally and I would spend HOURS in the woods or prairie covered in snow hiking, reading, shooting etc. Moved to the coast of South Carolina (8 miles inland from the beach) and it’s this bone ache cold because of the humidity. Don’t get me started on the rolling fog that comes in! Winters are retarded here. One day your in shorts the next is the bone ache cold! You can’t dress for it like I did back home. You have to experience to understand. It makes me homesick in the winter something fierce!

Yep, I've done 17 degrees in Montana, 21 in Pennsylvania, 20 in New Mexico, 17 in Germany, 32 in Iraq and none compare to a high humidity day below 40 in Louisiana. Chicago on the water is pretty close, though.

Oh... for those saying "humidity"... You know the Great Lakes exist, right? You can't travel 5 miles in any direction in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc without hitting water. So that excuse doesn't cut it.

It’s a chill-you-to-the-bone cold in the south. It’s gotta be the wet air. We have “air you can wear” down here.

Dude said it in his description: 81% humidity. That makes 41° feel like 4°

It’s the truth. When we lived 3 miles from the Canadian border in NW Montana I could go outside to get wood in a t-shirt at 20 degrees. Try that in Arkansas and you might not make it back to the house. 🥶😂

Humidity. I worked with a foreman from Philadelphia. He could barely handle our bad winters (he was fine with the average ones). He said it was the moisture in our air. It cuts deep. The north is much drier so even though it's colder it feels better. You're wet and cold.

Cause ya’ll got soft, sorry not sorry, relative acclimation of environment.

I’m old. Give me a little leeway

😂😆 I agree with the cold feels more dramatic TBH, up north here in my neck of the woods we get to -10 & then everything feels warmer the rest of the winter. You look great for 35 BTW😊

Harsh Truth: The lack of people in the North whining about 40F like babies, probably makes it seem less significant.

He said it and doesnt ever realise it….humidity. Just like in summer when its hot and so humid you feel like you cant breath, winter the moisture makes it feel colder. Right now im at -11 with 55% humidity, it doesnt feel that bad, just walked my dog.

I gave up duck hunting. I refuse to be on open water below 50°. I dont want to go

The humidity ,even in the fall/winter, makes it a wet cold and u feel that shit in ur bones

Blood is thinner if you live in the south. Takes longer to get accommodated to the cold weather. In Ohio (after winter) once March hits & you get the first day where it is 45 degrees, you can go outside in shorts.

@Bow47064648John This is true. Utah is so dry that the cold feels less cold than the wet cold in Virginia.

It’s the humidity. I grew up in AK and worked on the north slope in the oilfield. There might be a lot of snow and ice but it’s a cold arid desert. I live in TX now and it ain’t the same because of the humidity. Down here if it gets below 40, it’s a “pinchy” “stinging” kind of cold. It’s just diff’rnt 🤷♂️

Born and raised in Alaska. Lived all over the US. Now I live in central Florida. I say it all the time. I’m more miserable in the cold in Florida/Kentucky than I ever was up there. Humidity is a bitch.

It’s the humidity.

My grandparents lived in Iowa and took their Airstream to south Texas a few times. Grandma swore you could freeze to death in south Texas, she refused to keep going so grandpa sold the Airstream. Maybe snow insulates things. I don’t know.

He said it......humidity makes it colder.

Humidity and elevation. 40° in Denver feels nothing like 40° in Central California. This guy must’ve never gone outside when he traveled.

Your just getting old my guy. I handled it much better when I was 20 with a cheek full of dip surrounded by high T / half drunk soldiers too. Sucks getting old. I went hunting a day ago and it was 8f out. Fucking cold.

Your body acclimatizes to the temperature. Spend a month up north in the winter and then go down into the south and you’ll have a t-shirt on at 41 degrees

I truly believe it’s what your body is acclimated to, I lived in Tn for a while and tourists from Fl would freeze while tourists from Chicago wear shorts.

It’s the humidity in the air. Up north where I live during winter months everything is super dry air so it’s not that wet cold feeling

He is right! I’ve always assumed it’s the humidity levels, maybe? 🤷♀️

Did you start taking BP meds since your past training days?
